EFIS baro knob

Whenever I turn one "click" on the Goflight EFIS baro adjustment knob the setting on screen continues to move until I turn one "click" the other way. Is this normal? If not, how do I program it to work without it continuing to move. It can be very frustrating twisting and turning the knob. BTW... I'm using the PMDG 747. Everything else is working great.

  • Oops. I just found a solution for fixing it for the 777. Would setting the knob to a "rotary" option in the PMDG SETUP correct it?
  • Possibly. The 800 variant has a rotary instead of a selector and that doesn't work with GIT yet.

    Best wishes

  • I'll give it a try. Thanks, Steve.
  • Sadly, I didn't find a way to program it for a "rotary switch" under the PMDG setup. Anyone have a suggestion?
  • Hi:
    Try this:
    in the aircraft's CDU, choose:

    PMDG SETUP
    then:
    AIRCRAFT
    then:
    EQUIPMENT
    then:
    Page 20 (of 22)
    there, second selection
    MINIMUMS & BARO KNOBS
    select
    ROTARY

    that should do it

  • To expand on Roberto’s guidance, and answer your original question: yes it is normal, PMDG implemented that behavior because it’s how the 777 and 747 actually work.

But as a concession to all of us fooled and annoyed by that bit of realism, they’ve offered a way to undo it, which is the menu option Roberto has pointed you to.
  • Must've overlooked it. Thanks for the advice.
  • It worked!! Thanks for the help guys.
