Xplane 11 won't start up
Like many other mornings I went to start a flight and Xplane wouldn't open. It started the opening screen briefly and then would CTD. Checked the log in xplane 11 and the crash was blamed on the GIT plugin. Took the plugin out and sure enough xplane started up.
I have tried many things to try and get back up and running. I finally uninstalled GIT and tried to reinstall it. I have had no success now in reinstalling.
I am trying to install 2.0.14.1. I believe i was using the version older. I hadn't updated because everything was working so well.
I have cleaned the registry and tried reinstalling several times and after a day of trying I sit here with this as the current error message I am getting:
C:\Users\.........\Onedrive\Documents\Goflight Interface Tool\LUA Config.txt
An error has occurred while trying to create a file in the destination directory:The system cannot find the file specified.
Click Retry to try again, Ignore to skip this file(not recommended), or Abort to cancel installation
I am at a complete loss. GIT has been working perfectly for months until for some reason this morning the wheels fell off!
Appreciate any help!
Dave

Not sure what is going on there. You can create the missing file in the Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool directory using Notepad. Simple copy the following into it:
hostname: localhost port: 27015 path: default luatimeout: 500 luahookcount: 3
If you still have problems copy and paste the contents of the GITLog.txt file found in your X-plane directory to this discussion.
Best wishes

Tried inserting the file as suggested but I got the same error message. Notice the error refers to the documents folder in the OneDrive. Is this what is suppose to happen?
Suggestions??
I also was going to try a fresh download to see if that would help. Went back to the download page and see I have no downloads available for Xplane11. If you could reset it that would be great.
Thanks
Dave
No it shouldn't be going to OneDrive. Not sure what has happened to your system for it to start doing that.
I have reset your download count.
Best wishes
Steve
Here are my GIT Log.txt and xplane11 log.txt
I reinstalled the latest GIT and simply "ignored" the error messages that came up. When I tried to open xplane 11 got the same CTD after the start up window appeared.

Has anything changed on your PC such as new aircraft installed, windows update etc?
Thx
Steve
There was a windows update on Feb. 13. I did a flight on the 14th and then on the AM of the 15th Xplane wouldn't open and I found the issue with the GIT Plugin in the log.txt. No aircraft additions either. Nothing else I can think of either that has changed.
Dave
Delete GIT and make sure you manually delete the GIT plugins from the X-Plane folder, then reinstall and make note of any oddities or error messages and relay them back to me.
Thanks
Steve
I deleted GIT and the GIT plugin in the plugins folder. Checked manually to ensure everything was removed. I did a registry clean with Ace Utilities.
As has happened before I get the attached error message.
To get around this error message, as I said above, I made the file it was looking for on the "OneDrive" Then it completes the install but then I get the CTD when trying to open Xplane with the log.txt file saying it was due to the GIT plugin
To start with, I somehow I have to get the install to point to my documents folder on my C;/ drive.

Try downloading the software again in case your copy is corrupt. If still no joy, try removing OneDrive.

I downloaded GIT yesterday after you reset my count. Thank you.
I have tried to shut down OneDrive and in the process can no longer find the download from yesterday. I have no idea how many files I have lost or where they are since trying to remove OneDrive. (I have had some choice words for Microsoft in the last 24hrs for sure!!)
So went back to the downloads and see I don't have any. I am sure that you had reset it to 10 yesterday when I download it but nevertheless, now it shows none.
Could I get you to sort me out again??
Thanks
Dave
Thanks for resetting my count.
Downloaded and installed GIT. Got the attached error message during install but everything seems to be working. I will download the zibo profile and see how it goes.
Will let you know. Any thoughts on this error message???
Thanks
Dave
