New User XPlane 11 Default Cessna 172SP Aircraft Zip File
I am trying to setup the GF-T8, GF-P8 and the GF166A VRP. Is there an automatic configuration for this aircraft? If so where do I find it? I've downloaded this file. But when I Import it none of the boxes are able to be Ticked.

That file only works with the MCP PRO. You will have to manually configure T8 and P8, although the GF166A may work with the default settings by clicking either NAV, ADF, COM buttons on the GF166 tab. Remember to enable the devices in the drop down.

Since I'm not a programmer. Is there someone or some place I can go and find the T8 or P8 and GF166A already programmed? Maybe I could then try and modify the files to suite my needs.
Thank You.
Bill
GIT is an interfacing tool, you have to configure it I'm afraid. The GF166 can be auto configured using the buttons I detailed previously but it will only work with aircraft that use standard datarefs and commands.
There are some videos in the beginners guide that should help you grasp things. You don't have to write code, just pick relevant datarefs and commands.
Best wishes

Thank you I watched the video's. I'll watch again and see if I can figure it out.
I.trying to set the first 4 buttons on the GF-P8 as follows.
Hdg hold
Nav hold
Appr hold
Alt Hold
I can get the lights to work when I press the buttons. The button changes the selection on the aircraft autopilot but it doesn't toggle off when I press it again. I think I'm almost there but I'm missing a step somewhere. I'll check out the video again.
Thank You.
Bill
Check you can toggle it on and off in the VC as it could be its behaving correctly!
Also, look for the toggle versions of commands such as sim/autopilot/autothrottle_toggle

Steve
Your correct it does not toggle in the VC. So it's behaving correctly. Next how do I get the light to come on for these switches?
Thanks for the help.

Tried both heading and hdg in the Light Data search. Also tried nav and could not find any command that worked for the lights. Light Action ON and value 1.

I have just spent over an hour trying and re-trying the Detective procedure. With no meaningful results. I have spent way too much time on what should have been a simple task. XPlane 11 default Cessna one of the simplest GF units GF-P8 and can't get it to work properly. I think you would agree that with your help I have tried everything. At this point I would ask for a complete refund. Flight Simulation is to be fun. This has been total frustration. I thank you for all your help. But I just have to call it quits.
Thank You
