A2A C182 and Aerosoft A320 configuration including MCP-Pro and EFIS

A2A C182

Note, requires A2A C182 Input Configurator to map the following

AP HDG = Ctrl + Shift + H
AP ALT = Ctrl + Shift + L
AP UP = Ctrl + Shift + U
AP DOWN = Ctrl + Shift + D
AP APR = Ctrl + Shift + A
AP NAV = Ctrl + Shift + N

Aerosoft Airbus

Both include "clean" (i.e. no other aircraft in the files) set of:

Settings.xml
BespokeVariables.xml
BespokeEvents.xml
[aircraft name].xml
[aircraft name]_GFMCPPRO.xml
[aircraft name]_GFEFIS.xml  (airbus only)

These are not be perfect, some additional adjustments maybe required and they are primarily focused on my "available" GF modules.  I don't have enought GF modules to emulate every button, switch, rotary.

Here is a quick video demo and test flight (best viewed in HD at full screen):

Many thanks to Steve M. and his excellent GoFlight Interface Tool.

Cheers, Rob.

  • Nice video Rob. Love what you have done with DIO - is that a self made front panel for DIO?

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • Yes sir, just got some "blanks" from GoFlight and made a few holes.  I used this product to do the panel text layout: Front Panel Express

I don't actually send them out to be fabricated, I just print the layout, laminate it, and then punch holes in appropriate locations.  Makes it easy to switch the overlays in and out and/or correct errors without the cost of sending away for new panels to be fabricated.

Obviously the fabricated panels will be nicer and I may go that way in the future (cost varies from about $40 to $60 pending complexity) but for now as I'm not "finalized" I go the cheap laminated route.

    Cheers, Rob.

  • Great idea, I'll have to give that a go!

    Thanks

Rob have you tried these on the A319/318 versions, I'm sure aerosoft repurposes a lot of the same stuff but haven't gotten around to testing on these yet but it is a cheap upgrade if you already owned the 320/321.

I actually prefer the smaller planes because they are great for shorter hops.

  • I believe they should work for the A321/A319/318 also ... I haven't tested it with those yet (I have them also).

    Cheers, Rob.
  • Yep it works I just tried it out on the A319 and A318. If I could make a suggestion that you shorten the profile name to "Aerosoft Airbus" and re-export, that way it will automatically work with the whole family A318/A319/A320/A321

I've done it on my machine but don't want to post it here as it's your hard work and you should get credit for it.

I should note I only have the EFIS and MCPPro so you may want to test against your hardware as well but it should work fine.

  • I've made those changes a few weeks ago ... but just no time to upload.  I'll get to it once I finish my other PC build.

    cheers, Rob.
  • Slayer how and what do you change to get it to work with each of the family?
  • Hi gee8ch,

Load up your Airbus, go into the Settings tab of GIT and shorten the aircraft name to "Aerosoft Airbus". Click save settings and it should now work for all the Airbus family.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • Hi Steve,

Thanks for that but I think I need a little more detail. I tried what you suggested but cannot get it to work with any other Airbus. I think I will just wait until Rob gets the time to upload the other aircraft.

  • Hi,

I'm using now P3Dv3 with GIT 2.1.16.0 and have a problem with the A2A planes. The MCP Pro Rotaries are working in the plane, but the digits at the MCP doesn't work. They only show zeros.

In P3Dv2.5 the MCP Pro work without problems.

    Regards,
    Martin
  • Hi Martin,

I'll take a look later on in the week.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • Hi Steve,

thank you in advance. I'm using the same setup for P3Dv2.5 with the A2A planes, but in P3Dv3 I can move the gauges at the plane, but the displays at the MCP Pro did not synchronize and show "0".

Sorry that I could not solve this problem on my own.

    Best wishes,
    Martin
  • Sorry for delay ... V3 side tracked me, now I'm trying to get the MJC Q400 to work with GIT but not having much luck ... did anyone get GIT fully operational with MJC Q400?  Simeon (MJC) suggested using LUA, but I though that if LUA can do it then GIT should be able to do it also.

Back on topic, I'll test out GIT with A2A and Airbus in V3 this weekend and see what I can find ... super busy so not 100% sure I'll get to this but will try.

    Cheers, Rob.

    Hi Rob,

The instructions to use GIT for the MJC Q400 are topics at the top of the forum.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • Got'em Steve, many thanks.

Will test them out on the Pro Edition today.

    Cheers, Rob.
