GoFlight Interface Tool Tutorial Part II of III

It's been a long time coming, but finally made some time to make this happen. It's a very long tutorial (over 2 hours), some of it repeats some of the same process but hopefully someone finds it useful.

Part 3 should be shorter, I think, I hope!

Cheers, Rob.

  • Hi Rob,
the longer the better! There´s such a lot to learn from you and I (not only hopefully) am very thankful for your hard work!!!

    Best wishes,

  • Rob, thanks so much for this tutorial. It was worth the wait.

  • I need to talk to someone to get a further explanation of the settings part, at least, of the Manual for the latest version of the GIT for x-Plane for the MCP-PRO. I have gotten the green light on and steady re the GIT with x-plane(10) running and the MCP-PRO lights up for an instant when it is plugged in but I do not have the knowledge to understand all the acronyms, especially in the drop downs and parts of the GIT that are not explained, such as the lights so as to get the settings where they need to be to make the MCP-PRO work. I have tried using the "standard" or nominal setting that fills in some of the settings but that doesn't help re getting the MCP-PRO to become active. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Is the aircraft you have questions about also available for XP11? Are your questions regarding the "Detective" aspect or the settings in the actual "Modules" (T8, P8, MCPRo)? If I have the same aircraft in XP11, I might have some time this weekend to take a look but need to know more details from you and specific questions you have.

I'm not sure what specific "drop downs" you are referring to ... can you elaborate? If you are talking about the modules "Input Actions" (see https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/goflight-interface-tool-x-plane/34-concepts/83-input-actions.html) or "Light Actions" see https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/goflight-interface-tool-x-plane/34-concepts/84-light-actions.html

Unfortunately much of what and how you do things in GIT are based on the aircraft you are working with.

    Cheers, Rob.
  • Dear Sir
My CFIT do not start any more at All
    I use Windows 7 Integral Prepar 3D V4. and GFIT 64bits.
It was working fine sunduntly I receive this message (file attached)
What is the problem and what can I do?
    Thank you for your help
  • Dear mr. Rob,None of the controls or knobs work in my gf mcp pro. The changes i make in the sim appear and change the numbers in the mcp pro , all the lights and adjustments i make in the sim show up correctly on the mcp unit but none of the knobs or switches do anything in the sim. Im using: p3dv4.5.11.29713. gfit v3.6.5. gfccs v 2.28.0. aerosoft airbus A3xx v 1.2.5.0. Could you please possibly create a profile that would make my unit work with my airbusses?
  • Hi eddmariner and ckdo93,

Unfortunately I'm tied up with my own business venture right now for a new company I've started called "Sim Horizon". I'm developing airports for P3D V4.4+ (and maybe XP11) and hopefully for MSFS in the near future. Since I'm basically a one person company, this doesn't give me time to work on GIT aircraft profiles.

With that said, I have discussed with Steve the possibility of my company creating and selling GIT aircraft profiles ranging in cost from $4-$7 per aircraft profile provided there is enough interest? Creating some of these profiles (especially for more complex aircraft) can take as much as 24-56 hrs (3-5 8 hr days) and on top of that is support time, deployment costs, coding installers, and the possibility of platform and/or aircraft updates that could break functionality that might require I revisit profiles.

So, if you folks are interested in paying for aircraft profiles, please let me know, if there is enough interest to make this viable for my company Sim Horizon, it's certainly a process I would consider pursuing.

    Cheers, Rob.
  • yeah, i'm in. ive been doing this for over fifteen years and have spent thousands of bucks. i dont object to anyone making an honest buck. get to work and name your price.
  • Appreciate the feedback, it's good to know at least one person is interested ... will need a few more folks to make it worth the effort and "affordable" (the more interest the less I would need to charge). What specific aircraft are you interested in (list is fine)?
  • aerosoft airbus a3xxx, aerosoft crj, maddogx p3dv4, all pmdg, qualitywings b787. these are all I fly. if youd make profiles for all these in one special id gladly pay your (reasonable) price. but i can also wait for the masses to join in if interested. Whatever...

I would also pay - i fly the PMDG 737 every day and the interface tool works . I'm thinking of getting the 777 Pmdg cause i know all my 9 modules will work almost as default they'll just slip right in and work . I kinda was thinking of getting the Dream Liner Quality Wings but because of not sure of setting the interface tool for it no way i'm i gonna buy it . Me and my friend tried following the tutorial and we can not get it to work and he's a lot better at this then am --- Louis CYYC
  • Hi Robains

Exactly the same interest for me - PMDG 737 777 747 are my primary aircraft but I own MJC Q400 and the others listed by eddmariner as well. Happy to pay.
  • Thanks again for the feedback, I'll certainly keep this active on my development efforts road map.

    Cheers, Rob.
  • hey Rob hows the a3xx interface coming?????????
  • I am working on something, but not just for the A3xx ... but it is a few months away yet, lots of coding and I've been sidetracked testing other platforms, but progress continues.
  • Hi Rob. Please add my name to the list of GIT users who would be very grateful to pay for profiles, support and/or learning support. Given what I have put out for a new Jetline system that should be here this week, a long list of addon software, GoFlight modules, Thrustmaster controls and tens of dozens of hours of RTFMing, I would be GRATEFULL to support a competent resource such as yourself.

Have you considered a Patreon subscription service for those of us who would be willing to have access to your expertise and knowledge? A multi part course that would instruct us on walking through your A2A 182 profile as a learning exercise or something similar would be simply outstanding. I know you’re working on a GIT project. Look forward to seeing the results!

Besides the aircraft already mentioned, my wish list would be Manfred Jahn’s C47, Vertex Diamond D62 and the A2A Bonanza.
  • Thanks for the feedback, I am working on a product that I hope can make the process easier and more flexible for end users. It will work WITH GIT (GIT is required) but NO user knowledge programming required. Please keep the list of aircraft coming that you folks are interested in, so far I have all of those that have been mentioned.
  • bless you rob.

I'm interested as well with ALL aircraft already mentioned. Thank you and how is the project coming?
  • I will ask in this thread (sorry). How can I move the comma in the GF166 module to display 3 decimal places ???

  • As this one I bought the Engravity CDU PMDG Interface software but when it comes to logging in to my account it asks me for Spam Verification: 4 plus 8 the same, I cannot log in to buy the same software for the second time, but when installing it the software does not work for me I cannot connect to the mcdu. please if you could help me

  • Hello,

Please do not hi-jack a thread for a completely different product. Please post a new discussion in the Engravity CDU forum area so we can assist you.

    Best wishes
