Engravity CDU with PMDG737NGX in P3Dv4

Hi,
Is P3Dv4 already supported with the interface tool version 1.777.0.0? If I currently start the interface tool, it connects to the CDU but doesn't get data via Simconnect (and yes, the pmdg ini file has the broadcast line added (EnableDataBroadcast=1). Also reinstalled simconnect but still no joy.
Any feedback is appreciated.

Kind regards,
Willem

  • Seems I'm having the same issue with GoFlight modules and P3dv4.

  • Willem,

The Engravity CDU PMDG Interface does not yet support P3D v4. I have been attempting to get it to work correctly, but I think issues either in the aircraft or P3D are causing problems.

Hopefully the recent updates by PMDG have resolved the issue. I will be testing this week.

    Best wishes

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for your swift reply. I am looking forward to your testing results and hopefully you can get it to work (or I have a cdu for sale ;-))

  • Hi Willem,

New version is available for download that works with v4.

  • Hi Steve,

New version works like a charm! Thanks for the quick follow up and thanks to you, my CDU is back in business! Very much appreciated.

    Kind regards,

  • Jolly Good! :)
  • Hi Steve,

I do have a small issue right now with the CDU driver (v2.0.0.0). All was working well until I uninstalled P3Dv3. Now I have P3Dv4 connection with the driver where the status shows CDU 0, Simconnect & PMDG aircraft connected (green). My CDU boots up but no information on the display (backlight CDU is on, buttons are responding looking at the virtual CDU).
I reinstalled the driver already and also upgraded to the latest USB/UART drivers.

    Logs shows the following:
    11:01:38 MainViewModel: CDU0 Starting.....
11:01:38 SimConnectWrapper: SimConnect Message Processing Started
    11:01:38 LockheedMartin.Prepar3D.SimConnect.SimConnect: Start Event Received!
11:01:38 MainViewModel: Event Received: Aircraft Type Changed
    11:01:38 LockheedMartin.Prepar3D.SimConnect.SimConnect: SIM, 1
    11:01:39 LockheedMartin.Prepar3D.SimConnect.SimConnect: PAUSE, 0
11:01:39 AircraftInterfaceNGX: Left CDU Data Received

    11:01:41 CDU0: Status Changed:
    11:01:41 CDU0: Message Received: 2

Any idea on how to get it solved?

    Kind regards,

  • P3Dv4 and PMDG are still a little flaky. I would suggest a uninstall and reinstall of the PMDG aircraft concerned as this has fixed similar issues for GIT users. Use the latest version of the setup program from PMDG's website.

Is there a NO DATA message on the status tab in the Aircraft section?

I will be checking the CDU interface at my end later today as someone else is having similar issues, so you may want to wait for my testing feedback before doing anything further.

The other user with the same problem was running the wrong version of the interface and it now works for them so it would be worth double checking you are not making the same mistake.

Also check the entries in the FAQ.

My checking came back OK for P3Dv4.

  • Ok, I will check again for any obvious mistake. Thanks so far.

Didn't really had to time to check anything but now I found the rootcause of the problem and it was indeed an obvious mistake. Due to the reinstallation of the PMDG, the ini file changed back to default. So in the end it was just adding the line EnableCDUBroadcast.0=1 to the SDK part of the 737NGX_Options.ini and we're good to go.
  • Hi Steve,

I appreciate your driver of the Engravity CDU with PMDG737NGX very much but as you know, now also the NGXu is released. Are you planning to update the driver to the new SDK from the NGXu as well? Thanks in advance.
  • Yes, this week hopefully.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • That sounds good, thanks!
  • New version (64Bit only) is out that supports the NGXu.

  • Downloaded, installed and working again like a charm. Thanks Steve for the fast update, appreciated!
  • Hi Steve,

First of all, all the best for 2020 an beyond!
I have an issue with the Engravity software (v2.0.3) in combination with the CDU and NGXu. When I start the software with the NGXu running, my CDU screen starts with no information (software shows 'No incoming data'. I tried reinstalling software and drivers and even Simconnect but issues remains. Now I found out that as soon as you open the CDU within the NGXu and press one software button, the Engravity CDU shows the information and everything works again like a charm also via the Engravity CDU. The same setup with the NGX is fine. Any idea what that could be?

  • What happens if you start the Engravity Interface before loading P3D?

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Then it works (that's how I initially tested it, I think). If I then close the interface and open it again it doesn't work until you press an input button on the CDU (can also be a physical button on the Engravity CDU)
  • OK, it sounds like PMDG have changed something in the NGXu for when data gets pushed. I'll look into it.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • This is fixed now. Download the new version in the normal way.

    Best wishes
