Problem with GIT FSX Beta and GoFlight LGT II panel
Hi Steve,
I downloaded the betas for GIT FSX and P3D. While using the FSX version, I noted that a single tap of the flap switch on my LGT II panel extends 2 notches of flaps per tap in the PMDG NGX. My MCP Pro and dual EFIS Control Panels appear to function normally. Just for kicks, I started the P3D beta and the flap switch operates normally in FSX. However, the MCP Pro and EFIS control panels don't function at all (as expected, just checking the flap switch). Also, when starting the FSX beta in FSX, I get a message saying that the Prepar3D.ini file is not found.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Terry Swindle

Hi Terry,
I cannot recreate the flaps problem. I suspect you have the LGT flaps switch assigned in some other software such as FSX, GFConfig or FSUIPC such that two pieces of software are sending flap commands.
In regards to P3D, the fix is detailed here: http://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/forum.html#/discussion/166/pmdg-777-prepare3d-problem

Thanks for the response. I've been through every piece of software I'm running and can't find an instance where possibly two sets of flap commands are being sent via my LGT II flap switch. However, I have noticed that when shutting down the GIT, the switch sends flap commands normally. The only other software that's running concurrently with FSX/NGX in this situation is FSUIPC. I've been through that module and can't determine that it is sending any commands as I don't program anything via that module. I'm using GFConfig 2.25. As far as I can tell, GFConfig doesn't allow you to program the flap switch.
One last note regarding GIT. When I select the LGT tab, everything is grayed out and nothing is selectable. This holds true for the MCPPRO and EFIS tabs. However, those devices operate normally.
I have sent a tech support message to GoFlight and will let you know if I hear anything from them. In the meantime, thanks for your help!

Terry
Hi Terry,
I would shutdown the Goflight data bridge (the small blue icon with a black plane on it in the notification area) and disable fsuipc by renaming it or setting disabled to true in dll.xml and try again.
If that doesn't work double check that you are not seeing the same problem with other aircraft assuming you have set up the LGT in GFConfig for them.
Its normal for the MCP PRO, EFIS and LGT to be blank when using the NGX or 777 as they are pre-programmed.
Goflight cannot help you with GIT or NGX/777 problems - all they will do is refer you request back to me.

I tried everything you suggested but I'm having no luck. I clicked on the DataBridge icon you mentioned. However, the only options I get our standard Windows options, which includes shutting down the software. I'm not sure if the DataBridge was actually shut down or not. All aircraft other than the NGX operate normally with no issues.
Terry
Hi Terry,
Yes you need to shutdown the databridge by selecting the Quit option.

Steve
We're talking about the icon in the very top left corner of the software? If so, there is no quit option there. I only see standard Windows option, which includes a CLOSE option. Sorry for the confusion.
Terryt
No its the icon on your taskbar, bottom right (the notification area).

Sorry for being a doofus! That fixed it! Thanks for the help. What is the quickest way to donate?
Terry
Great. It looks like GFConfig is sending flap commands (via the data bridge) although I can't replicate that.
Either use the donate button on GIT or on the product page.

Steve
Stand by. Turning off the data bridge introduced some new problems. Will post back here after more evaluations.
Donated!

Hi Terry,
I can confirm the rudder is backwards. Well spotted. That bug must have been present for 2+ years. I'll fix in the next release.

Hi Terry,
Actually you can change it yourself. If you go to the LGT tab and select Device 0, you should be able to then select the input ROTARY_RUDDERTRIM. You can then change the Input Action to ROTATE_REVERSED.
Best wishes
Steve
Hi Terry,
Since you have a rudder control, you have the LGT II, not the LGT which can be programmed so the toggle switch can be configured but it does allow you to change the pre configuration as well.
Once in the NGX virtual cockpit, select the LGT tab, then click the combo box near the top left corner and select Device 0. All the fields in the LGT tab will then become enabled.

Hi Terry,
"LGT, MCPPRO and EFIS tabs are only selectable while IN the NGX virtual cockpit" - this is the correct behaviour.
Minimise FSX once in the VC as sometimes if GIT is overlaid on the flight sim window the pull down combo boxes do not display properly. You have to select the Device 0 in the pull down combo box on the LGT tab before anything will become enabled on the LGT tab itself. E.g the top left hand corner should show "Device:" followed by an X button and then a blank combo box. Its the blank combo box you need to click on and select Device 0.

Hi Terry,
The LGT works differently for the NGX so that it can be locked i.e. handle the 3 positions. To operate:
1) Move handle from Down to Up for the NGX Gear Up position.
2) Then move handle to the Down position and then back to the Up position for the NGX Gear Lock position.
3) When landing, move from the Up to the Down position for the HGX Gear Down position.
If you just want to use the data bridge instead, disable the LGT in GIT and configure the LGT in GFConfig.
Best wishes

Hi Terry,
The code running in GIT is exactly the same as the Goflight PMDG Interface with the NGX. In fact GIT is built on top of that original code. Nothing has changed in ages for the NGX code so you must be doing something different.

It was a self-induced issue. All is well!
Thanks again!
