My MCP PRO or MCP Advanced have garbled displays / number mismatch - X-Plane11

Hi Steve,

Feel I may be suffering from one of these issues due to what I am currently experiencing. GIT comes up, all green, I load PP default PP 738.zip, MCP runs but things are really wonky, some things work, some things don't EFIS works fine, just MCP is very unpredictable in it's behavior, displays and functionality. I've attached GIT log for your reference. I will try and answer all questions you have and provide any further information needed to resolve the issue,

Thank you so much.

  • It sounds like you have some other software that is driving the MCP PRO at the same time as GIT. It would also be worth using GoFlight's MCP PRO test software to check if the unit is faulty: https://www.dropbox.com/s/n1hw4huebtuwgqz/MCPProChkA25.zip?dl=0

  • Thank you Steve, I will run the test software tonight after work and update you. Past that point, given the unit is sound (which I think it is) what are next steps?

  • Hi Steve, Ran the test program and everything checked out fine. What are next steps. If there is a conflict with another app, would need your direction / guidance.

    Thank You!

  • Is it doing it with all aircraft?
  • Hi Steve,

I currently just fly "in the box" meaning no external avionics software or outside programs other than the PP GF interface. I am using the PP Default 737-800 MCP EFIS zip for AC config and have also tried the Zibo zip for config as well, with similar results. I only fly the 737s, no GA aircraft. I do have a copy of P3D on the box as well but do not run it at all as I much prefer the look and feel of XP11. Past this point trying to figure out what else I can tell you, to help you help me!

    Thank You!

  • I'm wondering whether the winsock errors are causing an issue. They don't normally. Can you disable your firewall temporarily and get GIT to connect to the backend module OK.
  • If I understood your request, I turned off FW, 2. started XP, 3. started PIT and it connected as before, made sure both MCP and EFIS were "Enabled" NOTE: When XP starts and gets to saved flight screen an error window comes up "Wrong IP address, No NIC with this address found" Thank you for your patience Steve!

  • Hi Jeff,
I'm guessing you have XPUIPC installed in the plugins directory. The NIC issue is that the IP address in the XPUIPC ini file doesn't match your computer IPv4 address.
Open up a cmd window and run ipconfig and see what the IPv4 address is. Make sure that address is in the ../X-Plane 11\Resources\plugins\XPUIPC\XPUIPC.ini file as the server address.
    Restart X-Plane.

    See how that goes.

  • Hi David,

Yes, that took care of the NIC error in XP, thank you so much!.

  • So what is the situation now?
  • Ugh! lol, same sir. I also noted when I us the DL wizard in GIP to bring in a given aircraft zip. it gets to "saving" but never completes, just kind of hangs there. I'm about ready to rip everything out including XP and start fresh. There's gotta be a conflict or corrupt file somewhere. I really don't know Steve.
  • Or...........perhaps, just go get an FDS or Sismo MCP and EFIS...
  • This is odd. Lets get GIT starting up clean with no config by renaming Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool and then reload the profile.
  • I've uninstalled GIT completely to start fresh and note there are some folders / files still remaining, including the path you mentioned. Want to start with a clean install, but concerned about the remaining files/folders. please advise best process / procedure to wipe clean so we can start over.

    Thanks -Jeff
  • Just rename that directory I mentioned and GIT will have a clean config. The other directories are for storing licence files and minor UI settings.

    Best wishes
