"......my GF hardware is little more than $1500 in useless junk now...." Ouch! I sure hope we can get this sorted out or I have the same "junk" :s :/ :)

Thanks Steve for the suggestion. I really don't understand what Lockheed is doing except possibly being incredibly arrogant with that license structure. Don't think I can justify paying them $200 for the software so it might be Xplane 11 or nothing. Maybe just take a break from it all until the dust settles and all these…

DOH!! I should have known that. My apologies for the question. Spent some time today setting up my ifly 737 and this is going to be awesome with my goflight equipment and so easy to set up!! Thanks Steve!!!!!!!! Dave

Thanks Steve!

Any suggestion on how to contact him there?

I think you had the same problem I had by the looks of what your bespokes events got changed to.
-
Sorry, I have already put my backup into use so I have lost it. Next time it happens (which isn't that often) I will send you a sample. By way of recollection, when I was looking in detective at the Baro knob on the EFIS it had fake lvars referring to the HSI and the same two lines of fake lvar code was in other EFIS knobs…
-
... and as luck would have it, it happened again today. This time my EFIS stopped working and when I check detective, the fake lvars have taken over! It has been a couple of months since it last happened and I have not idea why today. Thank god for backups!
-
Twice I have had the occasion with the Q400 where for no apparent reason some of my bespoke events magically change their coding to something made up of fake lvars. The ones that change all change to the same thing. I have absolutely no explanation for it. I learned the hard way to keep a copy of my GFIT Folder. Have a…

Thanks Steve. ...and I install right over top of my existing after backing up "Goflight Interface Tool" in my Documents. Right? thanks dave

Quick update. Setting the action to ROTATE was the answer. Thanks again! dave

Thanks for the quick reply Steve, I"ll give it a shot! dave

Hi Steve, Did as you suggested and removed Slayers bespoke events and reloaded using the wizard. I deleted the bespokes manually so I could keep the ones that I made. Learned the hard way that the wizard appears to automatically delete everything so I lost all my bespokes anyway. Nevertheless, it appears to have brought…

Prior to doing the reload of the Slayers download, I had a closer look at my bespoke events. ALL the bespoke events made with LVARS (mine or Slayers) have somehow changed. Every one is now made of up with either of the following with different numbers after the equal sign. AFCS_-> outputs.HSI_right_lt = XX (different…

Thanks Steve, Yes have a bunch of goflight devices with switches and knobs that I have setup with bespokes for my Q400 and I have not used any fake LVars for them. As I say, I had never noticed these fake lvars until I had this problem. I was afraid you were going to say that I had to reload the MCPPRO and EFIS because it…

This is what is puzzling. I haven't done any updates. I am afraid I can't get my head around the "fake" LVAR thing and don't quite understand the "Important Information" warning when I first activate GIT with the Q400. I don't know what the LVAR was before. I guess what I meant to say is that I have never used or seen this…

That would be terrific. Thanks Steve! dave

Forgot to say I'm using FSX, WIN10.
-
Thanks for the quick reply. So I guess this occurred when my computer updated itself from win 7 to win 10? I have an MESM so I should update to 2.26.5, then run the GFWindows8Fixer.cmd? (Hopefully I don't have to unplug everything!) thanks dave

Hi Steve, Been fooling around with it for a few days and no luck. As outlined above, I can't get the second 166 to come to life. I can see that the import worked into device 1 but nothing lights up on my 166. Have UHF working on device 0 from original import with the wizard. Any suggestions?? Thanks Dave
-
Well that sure worked well !!!!!!!! Imported efis, mcppro and one 166. Only hiccup is that the wizard only gave me the option to select one 166 and it imported the VHF as device 0. The other 166 tick boxes were greyed out. Tried importing the mjc8q400_GF166-NAV as device 1 on its own, and it populated fields, but didn't…

I noticed the new "Install Wizard" but haven't done and reading yet to figure out how to use it. If it's that easy, I'll try it! thank you gentlemen
-
Thanks for the quick response Steve. The bespoke events that are there have no code in them. Is that normal? Do I have to import the mjcq400.xml if i want to add the GF166 which I didn't have before? Difficult to know what to do when I don't understand the mechanics of how this works. Can I manually delete the bespoke…

Wow!! This video is absolutely terrific. Reading and trying to figure it out, (especially with my level of coding knowledge) is a challenge. Having someone actually show me how to do it .... Priceless!! Can't wait for 2 and 3. Thanks ever so much Dave If I might offer feedback: If GIT and what is being done in the software…

Hi, I am not sure what happened, however as a result of having to move my computer and thus unplugging all usb's etc., I seem to have lost the MCPRO and EFIS setups that I had downloaded and imported in to GIT. I also updated to the latest GIT 2_5_1_0 which probably didn't helped matters. So before going ahead…
-
HI Steve, I have to put my vote in for it. I purchased ifly over PMDG because my MCPRO and EFIS would work with it "out of the box". Would be great to be able to configure some of the intricacies for sure. Dave
-
Well, I don't think I even want to know if that's all I had to do in the first place. Sure glad I sent you that screen shot. It said "not recommended" so I don't think I ever tried it. One way or the other... problem solved and I'm back in business. Thanks again for the patience and continuing great support. Regards Dave

Hi Steve, Checked the registry and the entry is not there. It has not reappeared since the first time I deleted it several days ago. For some reason it does not reappear with each error I ran the disk scan and nothing was found. Moved the GIT module to the end of the dll.xml file with no luck either. I have attached what…

Hi Steve, I'm afraid I have become a thorn in your side. No luck. Still get the error message upon starting up FSX. Double checked and everything is in place as outlined above. I sure hope I'm not doing something stupid. Hoping for another suggestion!! :-) Dave
