GIT P3d APPLICATION HALTED warning

Hi Steve, hi community,

hope you had a good Easter weekend?

Last night I had a electrical blackout in the whole house while flying.
After power returned I wanted to fly again, but after opening GIT 3.6.6.1 (you sent me) I received a warning window - see attached screenshot.

No chance, even after UN and REinstalling GIT to open... always the same error(s)

This appears only to GIT for P3d, my GIT-Xplane works without any errors on XPL11

PLEASE HELP ME - I have no more ideas!!! :'(

  • 1st update:

after performing a windows recovery to yesterday´s status I was able to open GIT again.

works normal with standard plane, but when I load PMDG777 GIT freezes, all three status lights from green to off and I can´t even close GIT without task manager.

glad for any help, been hanging in that for hours now...

  • It sounds like your config files have got corrupt. You need to restore from backup. There is a backup directory in Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool but I suspect these have now been overwritten with the broken ones because you got GIT started again. Hope you have a backup somewhere else!!!

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • PS There are XML recovery tools that you could run against the config files to see if they can be repaired if you have no backup. Never used them, but its worth a shot.
  • Hi Steve,

found out that there are more problems... something also went wrong in Windows due to the blackout

just UN- and REinstalled all my P3d, right now assigning axes

then reinstall PMDG and Goflight and GIT.

I have all clean installs, and the original file you sent me... should work out fine I guess...

    I´ll keep updated

    Greetings,
    Alex.
  • Hi Steve,
    little discouraging UPDATE:

After clean install (P3d, GFConfig, GIT3.6.6.1 ) I still get the warning... see attached.

Sim itself runs perfectly, about 70fps with standard plane, PMDG not yet installed.

    So what to do next???

Think I get hopelessly lost now

  • btw: which XML tool are you thinking of? DLL.XML???
  • If you edit the bespoke events.xml file in Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool and delete the first < on line 1 position 0 and then put it back again, it should fix it I think.
  • ok, I´ll try right now and give you a message

    thanks Steve!
  • This file is completely empty!!!!!!!
Not even ONE character in there!
  • Its been wiped then from the power cut. How about the backup directory? If no good, just delete the file and GIT should start, but all your Bespoke Events will be gone.
  • ok, I will delete it and try.
New assignments won´t be a problem, as my GIT shows lamps on DIOs when I click on a connector :p

Keep you informed, thanks so far!

  • edited April 2019
Seems to work for drfault planes now but not for PMDG, freezes aqnd can´t be closed without task mgr.
    Any more files to delete?
  • Try deleting the PMDG.xml file, but you will lose your config data for all PMDG aircraft.
  • all assigning saved via export tab

but I´ve just seen that I can assign a switch or button for the mooney, but no action in the sim
but says synchronising switches and selectors complete!

    So where´s the bottleneck here?

deleting PMDG.xml and give it a try
  • I have no confidence that other parts of the files are not corrupt. You may have to just rename Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool and start clean. As a last resort, it may be worth checking that the settings you are expecting to work are still there.
  • my fault...
just noticed I had an older Ver. running... (v3.5.something) redone and checking now
  • YAYYYYY... looks like PMDG777 is alive!

Imported my files and things go great so far!
OHP working, P8 working, just the damned GF-166 makes me crazy... the left display won´t change values on swapping frequency - settings should be ok (attached) - IDEA?

I go for intense testing now and then give you a callback upon it!

    Thanks meanwhile
  • Yep, back in the air again!

Everything´s fine - with your great support, thanks so much Steve!
So now it´s time for extra coffee - see DM!
