Displays suddenly not working anymore
Hi,
I installed GIT for X-Plane on my new computer and it worked for a week but now the displays don't work anymore. From your user manual I understood that this could be USB 3.0 problem. I did connect everything using a USB 2.0 hub but the computer only has USB 3.0 root hubs. Could that be the problem?
The solution you provide is to run the windows8fix.cmd that is supposed to come with the GoFlight drivers but I cannot find it, and since Goflight inc does not exist anymore I cannot ask them.
See attached file for my USB configuration.
Do you have a solution?
Thanks,
-Emile.

After a very long evening I figured out what happened but I still don't understand.
The day before I connected a Samsung phone to my computer and that installed some Samsung drivers. Apparently these messed up the GF displays because when I reverted to a restore point everything worked fine again.
I don't understand why these drivers mess things up because if I look in the Device Manager for the USB drivers on all the USB hubs, they only show the standard Windows supplied drivers. No Samsung drivers found.
It is a bit of an uneasy feeling that plugging in any USB device can cause the GoFlight modules to fail.

It makes no sense that Samsung drivers should mess up GoFlight drivers. Perhaps the phone is drawing too much power. Windows8Fixer is in the GoFlight directory. I would try running that.
Best wishes
Steve
I also cannot explain why the Samsung drivers would mess up things (I connected the phone only for a short time and saw the problem with the GF displays the next day, after starting the computer without phone attached).
If the problem occurs again I could consider bying a pci to usb2 adapter.
