RP-48 not working
Hello Steve and all:
I have crated a (surprising and puzzling) mess with my rwo RP-48 modules
Trying to "fix" my long-time malfunctioning GF-46, and following advice from GoFlight, I transferred its USB cable to another port.
This did not fix the issues with the GF-46 but created a problem with the two RP-48 modules in my system, although I had not touched their hookups to USB ports.
I have the latest GoFlight software (2-28) and latest GFIT software (3.6.5.3)
The two RP-48's are "good and healthy", because they were working perfectly until this event and, given the following symptoms:
Their lights come on when the PC is booting up
Their lights come on when I "identify" them in GFIT
The previous assignments to their buttons and rotaries are still there and correct
I have "enabled" them
The mouse pointer on screen, turns to a "hand" (left or right turning or grabbing) when I rotate a GF-48 rotary or push a button
But, unfortunately, nothing happens in the simulator. The corresponding sim rotaries and buttons, do not move.
This happens in all three PMDG aircraft I have programmed the GFIT for.
All the other modules in my system (9 of them) continue to work just fine.
I am not sure how to proceed and I am "afraid" to unllug the RP-48's from their USB ports, somthat I don't create further issues.
As usual, I will be very appreciative with any advice you can offer.
Many regards,
Roberto

Comments
Both RP-48's have started to work, by themselves! I did not do anything other than starting the PC and then the sim for a sunday afternoon flight.
The only issue, is that all the controls of the RP-48's have been swapped!
For example, if knob 1 of module "0" was "APU START" and knob 1 of module "1" was "TCAS", they have switched, so that knob 1 of "0" is now "TCAS" and knob 1 of "1" is "APU START".
And that has happened with the assignments of all rotaries and buttons.
Time to print new labels for everything and re-apply on the correct locations!
(Should I also check under beds and in closets for gremlins?)
Any idea of what might have happened?
Regards!
Roberto
The GoFlight drivers have assigned different device ID's when they came back on-line. The only thing you can do is edit the GIT XML file and manually change the device number entries.
Best wishes
Steve
Thank you Steve.
I did do the manual re-programming, but I will note these comments, as I am sure that, at some point, another hiccup will show up.
Many regards,
Roberto
In your case export device 0 and call it tcas.xml, export device 1 and call it apustart.xml. Then import apustart.xml into device 0 and tcas.xml into device 1. And save.
Mike
All of that noted
