GIT for X-Plane affecting mouse movement

Hello,
I use the GIT for X-Plane. Any time I load the tool, it states that there is a newer version, but I installed the latest one from the downloads.

While the tool loads, the mouse cursor is frozen. Once the tool is loaded and connected to the sim, the mouse cursor reacts jagged, like it stutters in movement.

A soon as I close the tool, the mouse works fine again.

  • Uninstall GIT first and then reinstall it.

That did not resolve the issue.

I did find out that, with multi monitor setup, all works well if GIT loads on a different monitor than where X-Plane is running.

Wondering is something changed in Windows10 that caused the issue, as it started happening after the previous Windows update.
  • Thanks for the heads up. I'll look into it.

So, I have been working in this issue some more.

Even when loading only the GIT, with X-plane not running, All mouse and keyboard actions stop working. Can not even get to the Task Manager.
I know that it is only the mouse and keyboard controls that are affected, as I do see ground vehicles move around in X-Plane if I have that loaded before I load GIT.

The weird thing is that, after un-installing GIT and deleting the GIT folders (install location, and Downloads subfolder) GIT somehow still finds the previous assignments after a re-install.
Also, I am still getting the window to pop up stating there is a never version, even though I downloaded yje latest version now several times.

There must be another location that is not clearing after a un-install. Is there another way to make sure GIT is completely removed from the computer?

I am slowly getting to the point where I think only a completely clean Windows install MIGHT resolve the issue. Or will that be a waste of time?

    Happy Holidays to all.
  • Okay, here is an update.

    I spent all day, starting with;
-a clean install of Windows 10, and updating it tp version 1909.
    - updated all motherboard drivers.
    - installed vc++ re-dist.
    - Performed a clean install of X-Plane 11, version 11.4

Then I downloaded and installed the latest version of GIT in a new location on a separate hard drive.

as soon as GIT loads, the keyboard and mouse stop responding. It does not matter if X-Plane 11 is already running or not.

    My system consists of:

    - CPU i7-9700k (not yet OC'ed)
    - Mobo: Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro
    - RAM 32Gb 3200
    - Graphics RTX-2080
    - Storage: Samsung 250Gb M.2 module for the OS
Samsung 500Gb SSD for Flight simulators, like X-Plane 11
WD Black 1Tb HDD for scenery and add-on's, like GIT.

    - Goflight modules:
    - EFIS
    - MCP PRO
    - 2x GF-166
    - GF-46

I hope this information is of use in pointing me to a resolution, as I gave gotten so used to flying with my modules that it feel

All Goflight modules are connected through self powered USB hub's

  • Oh, and now I have exceeded to count of registrations :(
  • Latest update:
GoFlight has reset my registration count after I sent them an email. Quick and painless. Thanks for that.

Now to my original issue; the controllers freezing as soon as GIT for X-Plane is loaded.

Since the issue started after I replaced my CPU/Mobo and RAM, I started wondering if the USB 2.0 connections on the mobo might have something to do with it. I have 2 GF-166, 1x GF-46, a CH-Products TQ and a mouse connected to a self powered USB hub, which in return is plugged into one of the 4 front side USB 2.0 ports on the pc case. The keyboard is connected to a second front USB port.
The MCP-Pro and EFIS are connected to another self powered USB hub, which is connected to a rear panel USB 2.0 port of the mobo. There are no USB 3.0 ports in use.

So, first I moved the mouse from the hub to a front panel USB port. then I loaded up GIT, and of course all controls (keyboard/mouse) stopped working.
I decided to unplug the hub from the front USB port, and all of a sudden the keyboard and mouse started working again. I also was able to get the MCP-Pro and EFIS set up.

After performing a lot of trial and error, I finally managed to get the 2 GF-166 panels to work. Still have to figure out what to do to get the GF-46 working.

I might have to use another self powered USB hub.

So, the issue is NOT with GIT, but with either the USB hub or motherboard, resulting in all usb ports being disabled as soon as more than 1 panel module is connected to the front side USB ports.

I am happy that I am at least on the right track to a resolution.

    Happy New Year to all.
