GF-46 dont light up

Hey,
I can see the module in the list and can configure it. But on the flight the module is off and not responding to nothing.

What I did:
1.Open the sim
2. Open GIT
3. Identify the module to see its light up
4. Start a flight
5. The module is off!!! Can make it works.

What I am missing here?

  • If the GF46 hasn't locked up (rotaries work OK), then its either a Windows Power Management issue (Disable power management on hubs, USB ports and Goflight hardware) or you need to run Windows8Fixer (see the GoFlight Drivers readme file on how to use and run Windows8Fixer).

  • Hey,
    I have 7 modules (2 - rp48, 2-p8, 1- lgt, 2- gf46)

There are many issues while all of them connected together.
I connected them with quality usb2 hub and disabled the power management,

If I only work with all of them expect the gf46 then everything is working fine,
The problem is starting with the gf-46.
When I connect the first module and try to config it with only nav1 and nav2 the module turned off and not responding at all.
Only if I am pressing the INST or AP buttons to get pre config or all of the fields are empty then the module turned on and responding.
If I connect two modules with first nav1 and nav2 and second with com 1 and com2 then both of them are not responding again.
Even if I am resetting them, nothing works. Its look like something with the configuration with the driver have issue.

Also if I am working with one device then most of the time it got frozen after some time.
I tried to tweak with the settings but nothing helped.

What is the issue with that module?? this is an hardware issue??

Are you working to fix those bugs regarding issues with more then one module?
  • Another example:
    1. Gf46 is configured with the INST button on the 46R tab.
    2. Test flight for 10 min, all ok.
    3. going to the 46R tab again and changing the first option from KOHLSMAN to NAV1 for example.
    4. The module stop responding!!! even if I am resetting everything.

    Look like driver issue.
  • Another example:
    1. configure all devices.
    2. flying with the gf46 working fine.
    3. closing GIT during flight
    4. open GIT again
    5. all modules are working fine except GF46 that is completely dead!!.
    6. removing the gf46 from the usb port and connect again for working again.
  • When it stops do the rotaries work? If not, your hardware has locked up due to power problems. It's best to spread GF46 and GF166's across multiple hubs and usb ports to minimise the lock up problems.

It's the hardware locking up, GIT can do nothing about it.

  • Hey Steve,
I am not sure this is a lock. I know what is a lock when the hardware lights is up but not responding.
In this case the unit is completely off.

Just launch GIT for the first time then there are two option
    1. The unit is on and working fine or off and not responding. and this is without using it (flight didn't started yet)
    2. Unit is off and not responding at all until unplug and plug again.
  • Does the Identify function work?
  • No the Identify function are not working
  • Then it is a power management issue as previously discussed.

    Best wishes
    Steve
