GIT -- MSFS 2020 Installation

The "Installation" instructions call for installation of code in the flight sim's software. All sims except MSFS are listed. How do I perform this task (item 3e/f) for MSFS? Mine is a purchased version of GIT, but has not yet been downloaded. I also have P3D v4,5 installed if that matters.

Unfortunately, I'm not particularly computer savvy, so a detailed set of instructions would be appreciated. I have never used GIT in the past.

Many thanks,

Brian

  • Just run setup; its simpler than GIT for previous versions. Usage instructions here: https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/vanillaforums/discussion/1436/fs2020-feature-status-and-usage#latest

  • Hi Steve,

    This is probably a stupid set of questions, but:

    - Should I install all of my goflight modules in advance of or after I install the GIT?

    - Should I install the Goflight driver (for fsx, p3d) -- if so, should it be prior or post GIT install? And;

    - While I assume the Goflight driver/software will detect my p3d (v4,5) installation, should I set all of the various module settings to "unassi" prior to running the GIT setup?

    Thank you once more,

    Brian

  • Install Goflight modules whenever you like.

    You can install the goflight driver, it will have no impact on FS2020.

    You only need to unassign modules in the Goflight drivers if you want GIT to drive those modules as obviously 2 pieces if software attempting to run a module will cause unpredictable results. Again, no impact when running FS2020 as Goflight does not support FS2020.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Thank you very much Steve! I will go ahead and give it a try,

    Best Regards,
