No chance to get GIT working in FS2020

I purchsed GIT to get my Goflight Modules work in FS2020 (P8, T8, 166, LGTII, RP48), installed it according documentation, started FS2020 and then Goflight Interface Tool FS2020. There are three green lights (Goflight, Simconnect and Aircraft) and all hardware modules are detected.

After starting the GIT, lights become green, Mode is shown "GENERIC".

If I start, after the menue in FS202 has appeared, there is "aircraft none" - thats right, cause I have not jet entered "World Map" to start a flight.

But: The sim is in most cases then absolutely frozen - I cannont enter World Map - no way - frozen like ice - the only option "CTRL ALT DEL" - shut down everything and restart the computer.

When I go into World Map first, choose an aircraft, an airport and start the flight - same issues - no option to choose a template or configure the hardware for that special aircraft - in most cases (do not yet understand the logic behind it) the sim freezes and I have to boot everything again.

Could you please list all the steps in order to start the sim, start up GIT, choose the aircraft and the flight, load an existing template (it is in my case the same setup for all aircraft)?

I succeeded in configuring one aircraft (except some question marks in the 166 radios - but thats ok). How can I save all these configurations and use it for another airplane ?

I would appreciate your help very much.

Thanks
Mike

  • Hi Mike,

This is an overview on using GIT with FS2020: https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/vanillaforums/index.php?p=/discussion/1436/fs2020-feature-status-and-usage#latest

Also see this thread about the GIT WASM module as you may need to manually install it: https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/vanillaforums/index.php?p=/discussion/1585/msfs2020-steam-sim-connect-out-of-bounds#latest

If still no joy, can you paste the GIT log on here.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Hi Steve,
I have read all informations and installed GIT correctly.
I guess there is no need to manually install the GIT WASM Module after it is allready installed by the Setup, right?
It takes extreeeemly long time to start FS2020 - at least 10 minutes coming with permant Beep-sounds as if MSFS is desperately trying to connect to the (difficultly regognizable) hardware.
When I am at the airport with loaded aircraft and fire up the GIT Software, it takes another etreeemly long time until the Hardware tabs are enabled and the simulator freeze ends. Before I assumed, the sim did freeze but it is just an extremely long time to wat.
After that (about 25 minutes from the start of the simulator) I can start to configure GIT and everything works.
To wait such a long time on the launch is no option - I am afraid I have to bury my hope to get the Goflight modules to work - at the moment.
Question: Where can I find the GIT log?
Is it the log that is displayed in the GIT software while launching it? Is it saved anywhere in the system?
    Thanks
    Mike
  • After intensive testing and sorting out all combinations of USB Hubs, switch settings, enabling and disabling devices etc. I have come to the conclusion that my problems are caused by the Goflight typical hardware kerfuffle with USB 2.0 and all these USB Hub matters.

GIT is working as expected - thanks for your quick support, Steve
