WP-6 assignments switched around.

I am having a problem where my WP-6 enabled 0 and enabled 1 seemed to have gotten mixed up. What I mean by that is that all the functions on the left WP-6 now work on the right side WP-6, and vice versa. I read in a previous post that

The GoFlight SDK determines the devices device number and I have no control over that. You can manually edit the settings.xml file to swap the device id's around when it happens.

Can you give me a little more detail on how to change the Id's in the settings.XML? I generally use notepad.

Thanks

Rob

Identify the WP6 entries under each aircraft . Then look for Device ID="x" under it and change 0 to 1 and 1 to 0 e.g. Device ID="0" DeviceState="ENABLED" Brightness="8"

  • Thanks Steve for your quick reply. Where do I make the change? Is it through settings.xml or the GoflightInterface tool? if you do not mind, could you detail the proper steps for me in order? I have had a bad experience once where I thought I was doing something corrctly, but was not, and really messed things up. I am still a bit paranoid.
    Thanks again.

  • Backup first! Just use a text editor to edit the Settings.xml file. Notepad++ (freeware) is good as it will allow you to collapse sections of the xml.

  • Thanks for the advice. I actually did it using PMDG.XML and it worked perfectly. Thanks for your help as always John. Your customer service is second to none.
