Opening GIT why don't I see a window?

Opening GIT why don't I see a window? If I click on the short cut it says it's already running but I don't see the window to alter any settings. Why not?

Answers

  • It could be a few things. Are you running the flight sim in full screen mode? If so press ALT + ENTER together to get it into a window. It may also be running minimised in the notification area. Also minimise flight sim to max sure its not sat behind it.

  • No I am running in windows mode, and I check to make sure it's not hidden. Sometimes it does open, but most often it does not open. I just don't know why.
  • Is it when you start GIT for the first time or when you try to restore it from the notification bar?

It may be worth deleting your settings directory at C:\Users\Your Username\AppData\Local\PollyPot_Software
  • It happens when I first try and open it after starting the sim on boot up, after opening GIT it does not appear, If I try again a pop up says it's already running. If I then open the task manager it will show two versions running, so I close both and then try again. It makes no difference If I start it from a desktop short cut an icon in the task bar or from the icon in the start menu. I'll go and try what you suggest deleting those settings.
  • Just deleted the settings, it made no difference I still can't get it to boot up properly.
  • Have you checked whether its starting minimised in the notification area of the taskbar?

  • I am managing to get the window to open now in both MSFS and Prepar3Dv5 but in Prepar3Dv5 the SimConnect light is on yellow. I've tried doing a new install but it remains yellow after clicking on the MCPPRO tab, selecting Device 0 then enabling it and finally clicking on DefaultFS. Then when I click on the status tab it still shows Yellow on the SimConnect light no writing the box is totally empty. How do I get it to work?

Are you using the correct version of GIT for P3Dv5? If so, post your log for me to look at.
