FlightSimIOLua.exe opens and not responding

I'm using GIT with MSFS. When I run GIT (with admin privileges), it opens a FlightSimIOLua.exe window which not responses, but the GIT window works fine and connects.

Is this a known issue? Is not affecting the use of GIT but it's really annoying.

Comments

  • BTW, its on Windows 11.
  • It's not a known issue. Does FlightSimIOLua lock up if you run it manually before starting GIT and MSFS?

    Best wishes

  • Steve,

I ran FlightSimIOLua with and without permissions after loading MSFS2020 in Windows 11 and in both cases the app remains not responsive.

After killing FlightSimIOLua, I open GIT and it will load both (GIT and FlightSimIOLua) without any issue.

So far I have to run GIT, and kill FlightSimIOLua so everything works.
  • Can you post your Lua Config.txt file.

    Thx
    Steve
  • Could you confirm the path where the file is stored?

    Thanks
  • Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool
  • Ok, in Lua Config.txt, try changing the hostname to localhost or your PC's actual IP address.

  • When I open GIT, now I have Aircraft light on red and FlightSimIOLua not responding.

Killed FlightSimIOLua and closed GIT, opened it again and now is working.

    Really weird.

  • I have been doing some tests, here's the behavior:

    - Opening GIT wit will open the GIT Window, a FlightSimIOLua window with the full path on the title which stops responding, but also a FlightSimIOLua in the system tray. The one on the system tray works fine.

If I just leave the FlightSimIOLua nonresponding window, everything works, but I have an annoying window.

I can kill the FlightSimIOLua window which is not working and close GIT. Once closed I open GIT again and now everything works fine, no FlightSimIOLua with full path window opens.

  • Hi, I'm having the same issue on new install with windows 11
  • Apologies for the "me too", but same here. Fresh install of Win 11-22H2 and GIT version 4.7.2.2 released Sep 2022.
  • OK, I'll check the build and come back to you this week.
  • Has the new release fixed this issue?
  • @admin_pps,

I uninstalled the older version and installed the new version GoFlightInterfaceToolFS2020_Setup_4_7_3_0

I have no changes from the older version.
  • Ok, I'm looking into again.

    Thx
    Steve
  • Thanks Steve for looking in to it.
I have the same problem on both FS2020 and XP12 version.
  • I have just tested on a fresh install of Windows 11 in a virtual machine and everything ran fine. Can one of you post your FlightSimIoLuaLog.txt file from your GoFlight directory. Can you also try disabling anti-virus and firewalls.

    Thx
    Steve
  • Steve,

Do you mean in the Documents/GoFlight Interface Tool directory? I dont have a file with that name.

  • No. It should be the directory that contains FlightSimIOLua.exe

Having rebooted Windows 11, I am now seeing the problem you have reported. The black window is the output window for lua which is created by FlightSimIOLua and is normally not visible but for some reason its appearing in Windows 11. If you try and close it, you will cause it to crash/lockup.

This output window is not actually FlightSimIOLua which is running minimised in your notification area, but it is created and opened by FlightSimIOLua.

I suggest if you see the black window, simply minimise it, do not attempt to close it, and everything should work OK.

I will investigate why it is now visible and attempt to find a way to hide it when it starts up.

Also, if GIT won't shutdown, click on the FlightSimIOLua icon in the notification area so the window with the aircraft picture appears and then close this window.

    Best wishes

  • Steve,

Thats exactly what happens. Hope you can find the reason you have that second black window.

    Thanks for all your help
  • Is the Win11 update to blame for these problems?

    Peter
  • New version released today fixes this issue.

    Best wishes
