Since the new update my GF MCP Pro keeps freezing

Since the new update my GF MCP Pro keeps freezing after a short while making it uncontrollable. I am using MSFS as the sim. Never had this problem before. Is anyone else having this problem

  • It's unlikely GIT is causing a hardware lock up. Check USB power management settings and make sure the USB ports, hubs and GoFlight devices are not configured to power down.

  • All USB 's are unticked. I rolled back to an earlier version and it runs ok, but now I keep getting the pop up to update. :(
  • Double check you have the latest GIT WASM module in your community folder when using the latest version.

  • Hi Steve,

thanks for the new vesion, but still it is not possible to click on "FSDefault" and still only "0" are displayed on the MCP-pro, but it is possible to change values with the knobs(new values are displayed in the simulator).

  • Are you referring to the PMDG 737?
  • Sorry, yes I forgot to mention this.

It sounds like the SDK options have not been automatically set in the 737_options.ini file. The file should contain these entries and if not, add them:

    [SDK]
    EnableDataBroadcast=1

The file is normally located in either:

    AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages
    AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages
    AppData\Local\MSFSPackages

If you find the file somewhere else, please let me know and whether you have the Steam, MS Store or Boxed version.

You will need to restart GIT and MSFS after the change.

  • Hi Steve,

i found the 737_options.ini in FlightSimulatorxxxx\Local State\Packages\pmdg-aircraft-738\work. I own the versions 600 and 700, too., and Flightsimulator MS Store. I added the lines but nothing changes, still only "0" to be seen in the MCP-Pro. After finishing the simulator, the line "EnableDataBroadcast=1" is gone.

You will need to update the file for the 600 and 800 versions as well in their directories e.g. ......pmdg-aircraft-736....

If the changes are not staying, did you save the file? Is the file read only? Try editing it with notepad running with administrator rights? Do you have the correct directory or a temp/cache version of it? Do PMDG have any advice on this issue?

Without this change in the options file, your MCP will be incapable of updating the displays. If GIT can't change it and you can't manually change it, then something very strange is going on with your PC/setup.

  • Yes I did update the module as well. I even tried a reinstall of the new version but the freezing of both the GF MCP and the GF LGT still freezes after ten minutes or so. Rolling back to v 4.7.2.2 fixes it. But as I've already said the pop up to say there is a new version is getting annoying.

Can you post the full GIT Log from the GIT tab when the freeze occurs.

    Thx

  • I've been trying to do a new download via my account but when I get to the downloads they are not active. i.e. you can't click on them. There is a red line around all of the buttons.
  • I have reset your download count.
  • Hi Steve,

it is indeed a PMDG-Problem: You have to change something in the options menu of the pmdg-aircraft before adding the line with "SDK- EnabledataBroadcast=1". otherwise when starting the plane in the simulator it will load the standard 737-options.ini and that is without the SDK-lines!

Now everything is fine, thank you for your help and assistance.

    Best regards

  • That's strange, I never needed to do that. Thanks for letting me know.

  • Just had it freeze again. Find Log attached.
  • Will there be a new update?
  • GIT is not working in outside views. I need to develop a work around.
