Problems with GIT / FS2020 / PMDG 737 and GoFlight MCP PRO

Hi folks,

I have a few problems with my goflight MCPPro using FS2020 and PMDB 737-900:

1) Both COURSE rotaries are not working properly, the just jump in one direction when rotating. All other rotaries work fine.

2) The 7-segment displays only show zeroes, not the numbers of the sim

3) none of the button LEDs are working

Hope someone can help me.

Thank you very much for saving my day and sorry for my bad english ;-)

  • 1) The course rotaries sound like the rotary encoders need cleaning or replaced. Use the following link to access GoFlights MCP Pro test software to confirm jumping due to the rotary encoders: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AvmOqBMETlayh9ZQUzSikUTgvmwIyw?e=Ta9YUe

    2) & 3) are related. Make sure in the GIT log you see PMDG SDK is OK. If ok, check the FAQ entry titled "My MCP PRO or MCP Advanced is not updating its display (just showing zeroes or dashes)" here: https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/41-faq/70-faq.html

If you still have issues with 2) & 3), post your GIT Log into this thread.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Hi,

thank you for the fast reply.

You were right about the rotaries, check program had the same issue. I'll replace them

Tried to solve the problem with the displays and leds as described. No effect.

I looked after the pmdg SDK, but could not find it in my pmdg folders. Perhaps thats the problem. How can I install the PMDG SDK? There is no seperate download.....

OK, I suspect the PMDG SDK has not been automatically enabled by GIT. Can you check the following with GIT and FS not running:

To enable the data communication output, you will need to open the file
737_Options.ini that is located in the 737 persistent storage folder.
For Microsoft Store distribution, this folder is located at
    %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\Lo
    calState\packages\pmdg-aircraft-737\work\.
For Steam distribution, this folder is located at
    %APPDATA%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\pmdg-aircraft737\work\.
Once this folder is open, add the following lines as required to the bottom of
    the file:
    [SDK]
    EnableDataBroadcast=1

Try again, if still no good, check the above again and see if it has been turned off.

    Best wishes
    Steve

PS it will pmdg-aircraft-739 and not pmdg-aircraft-737
  • Hi Steve,

I Added the two lines and it works!!!

Thank you very much for your help!!

    Have a nice week!

    Best wishes,

    Stefan
