Can't set RP48 MSFS

Through a horrible mistake I had to reload windows and lost all my GIT settings. I'm trying to reset what I had before on the default C172 G1000. The events for setting the altitude variable are, I think, AP_ALT_VAR_INC and AP_ALT_VAR_DEC. When I assign these to a rotary on the RP nothing happens in the cockpit when I rotate the knob. This should be simple yet I'm stumped.

  • Use Detective. Enable Event monitoring and then turn the alt knob in the virtual cockpit and you should see which events to use.

  • Thanks Steve, I've done that and did it again. Those are definitely the correct events. It's almost as if the GF48 is not connected to GIT however the GF48 lights when I click on Identify. As I said, I had to reinstall MSFS and GIT after reinstalling Win 10. I've also downloaded and ran Windows8fixer. The sad part is I had everything working on the C172 and C208 before my big blunder but cannot get it to work now.
  • Have you enabled the GF48 in GIT?
  • Steve, For better or worse, I reasoned that there was some disconnect between GIT and MSFS so I removed GIT and all files associated with it and cleaned the registry. I reinstalled GIT and tried again and it worked. Certainly not an elegant solution but it worked.

I noticed I have a file called settings.xml in the documents. It seemed to have my lost assignments. Is there a way to use that file to get back what the windows reinstall lost?

Lastly, looking forward to the new Detective.

Thanks for your dedication to the users of GIT.
  • Copy the file into Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool when GIT is not running and you should get your settings back.

  • Thanks. I thought I had to save the configurations to get them back.
