P3DV5 64 bIt GIT Interface Tool - Fails To Connect

Windows 10 P3DV5 64 Bit PMDG 737 and 777. Have been using this configuration for some time until today when the GIT Tool loaded and then hung up. I have not intentionally made any recent changes.
Without the Sim running it displays either two 'greys' or two 'reds'. the Go Flight indicator is 'Green'.
On starting P3D the tool locks up and has obviously crashed and frozen. I cannot determine if it is the GIT Tool or Simconnect?
I have installed the very latest version of the tool and re-installed Simconnect but the symptoms persist.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA.

  • Does it lockup on the initial P2D start screen or when the aircraft VC is displayed?

  • Hi Steve. Having re-installed Sim Connect, symptoms have changed a little. Without Sim running but TQ6 Adv connected, GIT shows Go Flight - Red, SimConnect - Green, Aircraft - Red. GIT is running and I can look at the LOG. On starting Sim GIT locks up totally once aircraft is detected but well before VC is established. What confuses me is that all this happened out of the blue and for no apparent reason :-(
  • BTW - I have checked that there are no throttle axis or button assignments in P3D and FSUIPC.
  • Do you have a recent backup of Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool?
  • Yes. There are four files therein; BespokeEvents.xml.bak, BespokeVariables.xml.bak, PMDG.xmk.bak all dated 3 Feb 24 and Settings.xml.bak dated 31 Jul 23.
Not sure if this helps but herewith GIT Log File Contents with TQ6 connected but no sim:
    17:19:31 GoFlight Connection Starting.....
    17:19:31 SimConnect Connection Starting.....
    17:19:32 GoFlight Connection Started
Green, Red Flashing and Red in that order
  • Ok, before we try the backup, lets see if its config file related. Rename Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool to something else and then start GIT. GIT will create new/empty config files. Start P3D and see if the lock up appears.
  • Hi Steve. Significant progress!
    Empty Config file created
    Three Greens
    Sim Started; Green, Yellow, Green
    PMDG 777 selected
Three Greens when a/c almost established, 777 recognised in Col 3
    TQ6 Enabled
    Default PMDG 737 selected
All throttle functions/buttons respond except; Reversers intiate reverse thrust but engines remain at idle. This can be achieved by pressing F2 key but previously on moving levers engines went to full revere thrust on lever movement alone. If this is the only remaining problem I can live with that.
    Your assistance is greatly appreciated

  • The reverse thrust issue will be because the TQ6 will need calibrating again, leaving a top and bottom limit so that when throttle down is not at exactly zero, P3D will think it is and the reversers will engage.

It may be worth overwriting the new/empty config files with your backup files. This will restore all aircraft configs and your calibration for the TQ6. However if the backup files are corrupt you may end up with GIT locking up again.

    Best wishes

  • Understand that, I think that was my previous problem back last year. Do I need to do this in the GIT 'Configure Axes' tab or can I do it stand alone as I would normally do?

Either way will be fine, but if not using GIT you will have to manually configure the reverse buttons on the TQ6 with whatever software you are using to calibrate the TQ6.
  • Recalibration and a reload of everything have resumed full throttle service.
    Thanks again Steve
