Variable change Backup

Hi Steve

I don't know what happened but all of a sudden the bespoke events I have been working on today had there variables change. The logic seems to stay the same but the variables and events changed to something else. For example I had one dealing with fuel pumps and they used Lvars and some std sim connect events. The Lvars changed to some gps Lvars and the events changed also. I have know idea what happened. I did reload the aircraft once? Luckily I noticed and was able to go back up the files before GFIT was closed. Which brings me to a question? Is there a way in the GFIT UI to cause a backup so that as you are working you could periodically backup as you are working?

Thanks
Terry

  • Hi Terry,

Not sure what caused that issue. If you can provide the before and after xml configs and which aircraft you were using it will help me to track down any problem.

There is no automatic backup facility. Settings are saved if the aircraft changes or GIT is quit.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • Hi Steve

I had just over written the bad file with the backup when I got you post. By the way this happened a couple of times before today but I thought I had just screwed up and selected the wrong var but now that I think back it was probably this issue. I am working on the Realair Duke T V2 for P3D. I will pay close attention from now on and try to figure out the events that cause it.
I still think the backup idea is a good one. I had spent most of the day working on these and would not have wanted to lose that much effort.

    Thanks

  • Hi Steve

It happened again. I was working on a tq6 and I had just deleted two axis and went to close gfit and it locked up and I got the windows this program not responding message. I closed it and decided to check the file and sure enough the bespoke events had changed? Best I can tell the settings file was still ok. I can't be sure that the tq6 event caused it but likely. I am trying to remember but I think I was also working on the tq6 when I had the issue before but it did not lockup then.
All of this is for the realair duke and I think that is only airplane's events that were affected.
I have the files to send you but don't see how in forum. Will try to pm you with them.

    Thanks

On the MCPPro I export  a lot that way I have a kind of backup in case. I've had the same issue before where if there is a crash and you have the detective open it will wipe out your work. Usually ther eis a crash because there is too much displaying on the detective too fast and it overloads....
