Button Actions for NGX overhead

G'day Steve

I'm still finding out what I can control on the NGX overhead with my T8 and P8 modules.

I'm a bit puzzled as to how I should control the PACKS which are three position OFF, ON and HIGH. With a T8 Switch I can get an OFF/ON function which is fine but I can't workout how to get it to switch through to HIGH and then back through to OFF. I've also tried using a P8 and I can't get the PACK switches to do anything except blip.

One of things I still find a bit tricky with the overhead is to know when I'm braking up the wrong tree: which parts are best controlled with a GF button (P8) and which with a switch (T8). My goal is simply to be mouse free from OFFBLOCKS to ONBLOCKS. Any tips?

------------- EDIT-------------

I also now need help with the GEN switches :(  what am I missing here ... a push button can only be used for sending a momentary signal right?

--------------------------------

Thanks in advance.

Chris

    Hi Chris,

PMDG normally number switch states starting from 0, 1, 2, 3, etc.

Thus to jump from one position to another for the packs use the button action CUSTOM_WITH_OFF and set the custom value to 2). Off is always sent as 0.

Sometimes, the Off position value on a switch is 1 instead of 0. In that case you would use the button action of CUSTOM_WITH_OFF_AS1.

    Hope that helps.
