GoFlight Interface Tool- changing aircraft

Hi,

I started using the Go Flight Interface Tool to get my GoFlight modules to work in FSX-SE. I configured all of the buttons, switches, and displays to how I had it in the main GoFlight configuration. When I change aircraft (changed from default Baron 58 to default B737-800), those settings are gone but they load back when I change back to the previous aircraft. I don't see anyway of saving that configuration and importing it for all aircraft. I would prefer not to have to configure the modules for each aircraft. Am I missing something somewhere? Is there a trick to getting the same configuration to work for all aircraft?

  • There is no default configuration.

You need to use a decent XML editor such as notepad++ and copy the contents between the tags <Aircraft Name="beech_baron_58"> and </Aircraft>. You then need to paste, replacing the contents between the tags of the aircraft you wish to configure the same as the beech baron.

The file concerned is MyDocuments\Goflight Interface Tool\Settings.xml. If you have used Bespoke Events or Bespoke Variables, do the same in BespokeEvents.xml and BespokeVariables.xml.

  • Thank you so much for you help. I decided to copy and paste a config for the aircraft I more commonly fly. One more issue I've had since I upgraded to Windows 10 is that while the buttons, switches, and knobs work fine in FSX, FSX-SE, and P3D, the LED displays don't light up. I have my PC in high performance mode, verified that the USB selective disable feature is disabled, and have the latest GFIT and GoFlight drivers. I haven't found any helpful info so far on whether there is a config file I need to edit or if a Win10 driver will be released. I use 2 P8s, 1 T8, 1 GF45, 1 MCP-Adv, and 1 LGT.

A side note, an issue I've always had with the MCP from Win7 on up is that the displays can sometimes freeze up, thought the buttons and knobs continue to function. Usually I just unplug and plug it back in after exiting FSX.

You need to run Windows8Fixer.cmd located in the GoFlight directory which will add the necessary registry entries required for GoFlight hardware from Windows 8 upwards.

In relation to the MCP PRO, the two sliders on the MCP PRO tab can be altered to reduce lock ups - see the on line user guide for details. The only other thing you can do is to get the MCP PRO firmware updated to A25 and the lock ups will stop. If you don't use A25 with goflight driver software you will get lock ups, however by using GIT, lockups can be stopped/reduced by adjusting the sliders.

  • Ran the fixer, didn't work. The cmd window appears for a split second and no indication it successfully installed. LEDs still don't function.
  • Try running the fixer as administrator. Also check to see if the lights and displays work in GFConfig.

  • Ran as admin. Also checked GFConfig. No go.
  • You need to talk to John at GoFlight because something is fundamentally wrong.
