GF TQ6 Axis support
Steve,
Previously you have said to configure the TQ-6 (modifided with the THR 737 throttles) axes (spoiler, throttles, flaps) in FSX or another configuration program. For use with the PMDG 737NGX I've successfully configured and calibrated the axes in FSUIPC. Now that GFIT Ver 2.0.491 supports the TQ6 axes I did download and install it and I did detect the TQ6 axis. (I temporarily suspended FSUIPC.) However I elected to uninstall 491 and re-install Ver 2.0.386 in order to ask what are your recommendations or suggestions about calibration and configuration. I am currently running FSX SP2 under win 7 x64 without issues.
(BTW, there was no guide in the Ver 491 download.)

Hi Claude,
Both products do virtually the same thing in relation to Axes, so in general terms its a matter of choice, however the advantage of GIT is that you can use axis areas to transmit Bespoke Events so that may influence your choice depending upon your needs.
Also some people don't have FSUIPC so GIT becomes an obvious choice. It may also be easier to use as configuration is more visual than FSUIPC's numbers.
Finally NGX Axes support is not available yet, so in your case use FSUIPC. Once general joystick support is added (about 70% done) I will work on moving the legacy NGX code to the generic code base so that all the new functionality is available for the NGX and the forthcoming 777.
You shouldn't need to have to suspend FSUIPC as Axis events will only be transmitted if you have configured them.
In relation to the guide, which one are you talking about. A guide for Axes configuration, the NGX guide or the Beta Guide?
Best wishes
Steve
Steve,
Thanks for the reply and I must apologize.
Having now re-installed Beta 491 and looked more carefully, the answers to my TQ6 questions are there including the documentation ("Configuring GFTQ6 Axes"). I'm not sure what I was either looking at, for, or doing when I installed Ver 491 a few days ago and then re-installed Ver 386. (Must have been a "SUS" day, as described years ago by a friend of mine--"Small, Ugly, and Stupid".) Besides, you've said NGX support was pending. I'd forgotten that, and you said so in the aforementioned document. And all the other documentation was installed as well.
