Apologies to Steve

Hi Steve,
Re: your reply to my post on the Avsim PMDG forums (17th Nov.) regarding GIT. I did not mean to demean your product, as I have it myself. You are quite correct as to the ease of use with regard to the MCP Pro and EFIS. It just does what you said it would do. How ever, I have 5 GF 166 units and cannot get them to work. Is there a simple how to guide for these somewhere, its getting quite frustrating, having them just sitting there, and not doing anything !!

Cheers,

Neil

  • Hi Neil,

Can you not configure them or are they locking up/restarting etc,

    Best wishes

  • Hi Steve,

Have got the 5 GF-166 radios set up as Com 1,Com 2, Nav 1, Nav 2, ADF.   When I run the GIT, they all light up and have the same
frequencies  as the NGX has. They are all enabled in the GIT device as  0 -4 , the input event is on .

When ever I start the GIT the MCPPRO /efis and all the radios keep showing up as disabled. I then have to re-enable them once again, why is that?
The main problem at present is as follows.  Rotating the Com 1 freq. change knob , also changes Nav 1 & Nav 2 radios.
Rotating Nav 1 freq. knob changes Com 1 & Com 2 radios.
Rotating the freq. knobs, for Com 2/ Nav 2/ & ADF cause no problems.

    Cheers,

    Neil

  • Hi Neil,

The devices are not disabled. The fields are not populated until you select a device and which point the fields are enabled and the data updated. By default when no device is selected it shows disabled.

Your problem sounds like you have something else also driving the units. Have you built a configuration in GFConfig with everything turned off for the devices and ensured its loaded before using GIT?

    Best wishes

    Steve
