Starting over Xplane or Prepar3d?
Got a new PC over Christmas and after many years of FSX and it predecessors, I think it is time to move on.
I think I am leaning toward Prepar3d v4 over Xplane but I am hesitating.
Critical to me is some $2k worth of goflight equipment that I will want to get up and running.
GFIT has done wonders for me with my goflight modules and FSX instatllation.
Thoughts on how Xplane and Prepar3d v4 work with goflight equipment and GFIT would be greatly appreciated.(Majestic Q400 being my goto aircraft)
Thanks
Dave

The Q400 is not working well with GIT and P3Dv4 at the moment. It will be a while before I think this is sorted as it's a GIT and MJC problem.
I personally would go for P3D because of all the add-ons available.
Best wishes
Steve
I really don't understand what Lockheed is doing except possibly being incredibly arrogant with that license
structure. Don't think I can justify paying them $200 for the software so it might be Xplane 11 or nothing. Maybe
just take a break from it all until the dust settles and all these 64 bit issues get sorted out.
How's the GIT for Xplane working out? I have MCPPRO, EFIS, 166's, LGTII, G46, G48, T8's, P8's, MESM, TQ6.
Best wishes
Steve
They're both (XP11/P3D) good, they both require some working to get them to a "good" place. XP11 has a list of essential add-ons just like P3D. I actually think it's a little easier working XP11 with GIT, but like Steve indicated, no standard config.
XP11 is getting closer to P3D V4 in terms of the complete experience, but there is still a lot of missing or very difficult to implement items like AI Traffic and ground services, no seasons, weather effects, and missing parts of the core SDK that limits aircraft complexity.
P3D V4 is missing/fixing:
1. PBR
2. Better integration of ground objects and roads with the terrain (and better looking default Autogen)
3. Easier method of implementing sloped runways
4. Shifting terrain in mountain regions
But like Steve suggested, many more add-ons for P3D V4.
What both platforms are weak on is add-on integration ... too many issues.
Cheers, Rob.
