Looking for help with GoFlight GF-MCP (old grey face double din GA style unit)

Hi, I have an old (maybe 5 to 7 years) GoFlight GF-MCP unit. It is their double din radio stack style autopilot unit which has the grey face. The last time I tried using it with Prepar3D it did not work and I recall reading it would only work with FS2004 and or FSX but not Prepar3D. Is this still the case, and or will purchasing PollyPot remedy this issue? I have a general aviation cockpit that I really want to use this unit with since it cost over $400 new and has become a paperweight. Please help!
