New Computer - Step 2
Hello again Steve and all:
The new computer is home. The long process of reinstalling "everything" has started!
I successfully re-installed PMDG aircraft and GF and GFIT (Win 7, P3Dv4). I then copied all the ".xml" files (and three folders, Backup, LUA and Temp), from the old computer's Documents>GoFlight Interface Tool folder to the corresponding folder in the new computer.
What has happened, is that while GFIT in the new computer works (i.e. all the modules are recognized), only a few of the buttons and rotaries, work as originally programmed in the old computer. The majority are activating buttons/rotaries that are not as programmed, or are activating other features (pointer/hand move) but I am not sure which ones!
Before I start the long process of re-programming for the various aircraft, I wonder if I am doing something that is obviously wrong?
I have not deleted anything from the old computer yet.
Thanks as always!!
Roberto

I now know what happened, but not how to resolve it.
The new computer, has allocated new "device number" to the various modules where I have multiple units.
For example, what the old computer identified as "Device 0" for one type of module, is now "Device 1" etc. Therefore, all the assignemnts that I had for one device, are now showing up (correctly) in another.
So, rather than the buttons/rotaries not working correctly, it is that the devices are now "mislabelled" and "mis-positioned" on the instrument stack, which I have not changed.
So now, the problem is different and I am not sure at all, if there is a way to tell GFIT to change the device identification.
As always, suggestions and guidance are always much appreciated.
Regards,
Roberto
Transposed the cables in the USB ports.
Cheers.

Best wishes

Love it!
A new computer, that practically dimmed the lights of the city when it was turned on the first time
:-) :-)
A three-monitor set-up!
And after almost four days of uninstalling stuff from one computer, installing it into the new one, fine-tuning, and telling my wife that "we are leaving as soon as this program finishes installing " multiple times, everything now seems to be working fine.
During the first flight with the three monitors, I got a bit "dizzy" on the first airborne turns!! Really!
That is true immersion and realism!!
As I first posted, the only issue I encountered with GFIT, was that "mismatch" of programmed buttons/rotaries with multiple modules of the same kind. That was eventually resolved by changing/flipping the USB ports where the modules were first connected to the computer or hub.
Cheers and thanks!
