  • Hi Tom,

I have just tested and it worked OK for me. Can you try again as perhaps the website was down and so the file could not be downloaded.

If you still have the problem can you tell me what you have in the Our Airports part of Settings.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Tom, I forgot to add, run the Nav Data Tool as Administrator.
  • I am working on the problem now.
Thanks for the support. Will be back with you soon.

    :)
  • The directories is C:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3DLockheed v4\
    web site is http://ourairports.com/data
Dir Excludes MyTraffic,Setup,ORBX\Scripts,OZx\Extras I left this as the default when installed
All other settings are the default.
I just tried to run the our airports again and I get Cancelling, please wait.....
    Thanks Tom Johnson
  • I checked and I am running Nav Data Tool as Administrator.
  • I just removed and re installed Nav Data Tool and left every thing as the default settings with the exception of
    FS directory which I set to C:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3DLockheed v4\
    Thanks Tom
  • Using a browser can you enter http://ourairports.com/data/navaids.csv in the address bar and see if you a prompted to download a file.

Does the cancelling message appear straight away.
  • Another thought.
    I am running P3Dv4.2
  • Yes it does just as soon as I push start it says cancel.
When I clicked on the http it download a file navaids .cvs and I saved it to my Nav Dat sub folder.
I opened the file and it 11118 lines.
  • This isn't making much sense because having looked at the code, that message is only shown when the Cancel button is clicked and that only appears once Start has been clicked. You are not double clicking the Start button are you?
  • I just tried it again and now it says error when I click on Our airports update.
I just had Norton to exclude anything to do with Nav Date folder and nothing changed. I could disable Norton and try that if you want.

    Thanks Tom
  • Yes, I think that would be a good idea.
  • Tried and no improvement.
T am going to reformat the drive and install everything again.
You might have to reset my P3D GoFlight interface tool if I don't have enough reinstalls. I will try to past the file like you told me.
    Thanks Tom
  • Tom,

Try installing in a directory from c:\ instead of from c:\program files (x86) as sometimes Windows security creates problems on some systems. e.g. c:\navdatatool

I don't think a reformat and reinstall will help.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • I did that on the first install.
    Thanks Tom
  • Ok even though you thought that a re-format would not help which it didn't I did it any way. These days in Kansas USA are boring when a person is retired.
I re-installed Windows PRO and Nvidia update drivers and P3Dv4.2 and Nava Data Tool. I did not install any add on for P3Dv4.2. I also did not install Norton's. I am using Windows 10 Pro Defender for my protection.
I have also sent the latest settings.
    Thank You
    Tom
  • Here are the files.
This is the last install after re-format.
    Thanks
    Tom
  • Can you disable any firewall and AV software as I think this is blocking the download from Our Airports.
  • When I reformatted the hard drive, I did not install any software but my windows and P3D and then the Nav Data. Is this what you are asking?
  • Have you run internet explorer (search for iexplore) OK and Microsoft Edge OK?
  • Yes everything works fine. I have now finished installing all my add on for FS.
I connected my modem directly to the computer. I thought that maybe the router might have been causing the problem but still not able to connect. I guess I will keep the program installed in case you might come across what is causing the problem. I do have another computer that I can install FSX on and try it there as long as I can install
Nav tool on it. It also has Windows 10 on it.
    Tom
  • For some reason now I get an error on all three updates. I shutdown Nav Data and restarted the computer. After boot up I went directly to the Nav Data Folder and right clicked on the .exe and ran as an admi.
Do I need to re download the program?
    Thanks
    Tom
  • Today I change the http:// to www.ourairports and tried to make the program work.
After about five seconds I got a notice that Nav Data quit working.
    thanks
    Tom
  • Hi Tom,

I'm still working the problem, I'll hopefully have a resolution soon.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Thanks, I wish I could help.
Would it help If I would download FSX on my other computer and try to connect there.
    Thanks
    Tom
  • Hi Tom,

I'm still not able to replicate this problem. So as a temporary workaround, I have run the database updates for P3Dv4 and Our Airports on my PC so that you could copy the database to your system.

So if you download the database from the following link and copy it over the one in Documents\Nav Data Tool you will have no need to run the Our Airports Update.

    https://1drv.ms/u/s!AvmOqBMETlayga1QIYuKFHuEZlhisQ

I appreciate this is not ideal, but at least you will be able to use the software until I can work out what is happening.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Thanks for all the effort. That is what I call great customer service.
In a couple days I am going to post another problem that I have with GIT. For some reason I can not use Detective. I will send my dll.xml. I have got along without it this last year but thought it might be great to learn how to use it.
    Thanks again
    Tom
  • Ok I just did a complete format and installed all of my system, wind10 Pro, P3D v4.2, GoFlight software and GIT.
I opened P3D v4 and then opened GIT and I could see Detective.
At this time I did not try running Detective.
I closed every thing and installed Chase Plane and it asked me to install FSUIPC5, which I did.
After this I started P3Dv4 and then started GIT after I loaded PMDG 737-600 and the Detective was grayed out.
I have sent my dll.xml file.
I made sure that P3D was running in the correct view per your manual.
    Tom Johnson
  • Hi Tom,

Detective does not work with the NGX/747 or 777 as the PMDG SDK is built into GIT. In other words PMDG specific Events and Variables are available in GIT for selection. See https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/19-operating/36-configuring-goflight-devices-additional-information-pmdg-ngx-77x-747x.html

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • How about the 737 as that is what I have loaded in the photo?
It is something how much I learn every day such as READ THE MANUAL MORE THAN ONCE.
    Thanks
    Tom
