PMDG Interface Tool

I recently bought the GF Interface Tool for PMDG NGX. The installation worked out fine. I put my sim into sim mode and opened GF Config and selected compatible Addon. Then I opened the Interface Tool. Three Green lights light up. Then I selected the MCP PRO window. I was in the MCP Pro section but I could only click thre things. I could click Enable DIsable... the Brightness and Device 0. I couldnt click the rest. Then i again went to the Menu and selected Import Wizard. I selected the .zip of my aircraft and I wanted to tick MCP PRO. But i couldnt tick it. The interface tool didnt freeze because I could still select some things like the Settings and MCP PRO window but i couldnt select the important things. I would be happy if you could jelp.

  • Hi Atilla,

The NGX is preconfigured in GIT for many of the Goflight devices types. See https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/19-operating/36-configuring-goflight-devices-additional-information-pmdg-ngx-77x-747x.html

All you need to do is enable the MCP PRO in the GIT tab. Quit GIT and then reload it and it should start to work. If it doesn't please see the FAQ entry titled "My MCP PRO or MCP Advanced is not updating its display (just showing zeroes)" here: https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/41-faq/70-faq.html

Also make sure you are running the correct version of GIT for your specific flight simulator and you have set the MCP PRO to compatible add-on in the correct flight sim tab of GFConfig.

    Best wishes

  • Thank you for you advise. But I still have a question. How do I enable the MCP PRO in the GIT?
  • On the MCP PRO tab, select the device in drop down list next to "Device" and pick Device 0. Then you can change the DISABLED state to ENABLED in the drop down next to it.

    Best wishes

  • Thanks for your adivice,
my buttons and so on are now working but i still have a problem. My Numbers on the display are mismatching the Numbers in the flight sim. If I set the Altitude there is alwys some weird Number displaying on the MCP PRO. I tried everything. I updated my .NET Framework to the latest version, I uninstalled FSUIPC and I set in the GFConfig to compatible add on. I restarted everything and none of it works. Do you have a solution?
    Regards Atilla
  • Hi,

You haven't configured GFConfig correctly. You must change the settings on the correct flight sim tab within GFConfig and make sure the config is loaded before using GIT.

Alternatively when the flight sim is running, you will see a blue/black icon of an aircraft in the notification area of the Windows taskbar. Click on it, and choose to close/quit the application. This will stop the GoFlight driver software and should sort out the issue.

    Best wishes

  • Thanks for the reply. I configured the config correctly and it still did not work. And what do you mean by "Alternatively when the flight sim is running, you will see a blue/black icon of an aircraft in the notification area of the Windows taskbar. Click on it, and choose to close/quit the application. This will stop the GoFlight driver software and should sort out the issue." And where will I see a blue/black icon ?
  • "in the notification area of the Windows taskbar"
  • Sorry for the question, but which window/taskbar ? :)
  • See the red circled icon below:

  • The taskbar is at the bottom of the screen. The notification area is at the bottom right.
  • Thanks for the help but the problem is still there. Is there any other solution ?
  • You must have something else driving the MCP PRO. Are you running any Lua scripts in FSUIPC?
  • No I also uninstalled FSUIPC but i still did not work
  • What about LINDA or something similar?
  • OK. Leave your flight sim running but quit GIT and the MCP PRO should go blank. Now turn the altitude knob on the MCP PRO and tell me if anything displays on the MCP PRO.
  • Yes the displays work fine but it does not change anything in the actual PMDG Aircraft
  • OK, so we have proved that something else is driving the MCP PRO which is interfering with GIT. I still suspect GFConfig and the GoFlight drivers. Can you do a screen dump of GFConfig and post it here please.
  • So to confirm you are running FSX Steam Edition and not the standard FSX?
  • Yes, confirmed
  • If you are positive that the blue and black icon of an aircraft is not running in the notification area, then you need to track down what is driving the MCP PRO when GIT is not running.
  • If it doesnt work is there any chance to get my money back ?
  • We have proven that it is not GIT that is the problem and that you have something else driving the MCP PRO that is causing a clash. You cannot have two pieces of software driving the MCP PRO at the same time because that will cause corrupted displays which is the problem you have. How can the MCP PRO have working displays when GIT is not running.....think about it?!

Have you confirmed the blue and black aircraft icon is not showing when the flight sim is running?

Also make sure you do not have GFConfig running when the flight sim is running as this will cause problems as well.
  • The blue and black icon is not showing while running and GF config is not in operation while running FSX.
It still doesnt work. FSUIPC and LIBDA are not on my computer
  • Press CTRL+ALT+DEL and select Task Manager. When task manager appears, click the "Details" tab and tell me if you can find a program called GFDevFSXSE.exe or GFDevFSX.exe.
  • No, there was no such program
  • OK, do the following:

    1) Uninstall GIT.
    2) Uninstall the GoFlight driver software.
    3) Reboot PC
    4) Start FSX SE
    5) Confirm no blue and black aircraft icon in the notification area
    6) Do the MCP PRO displays light up when you rotate the altitude knob?
  • Yes the MCP lights up when I enter the Aircraft
  • I just saw that i had not uninstalled all components of FSUIPC because I need FSUIPC for another Module. I need it for my Overhead Panel
