Trim Wheel Speed

If this has been answered, I sincerely apologize. I have searched the forums but couldn't find anything.

Is there a way to adjust the speed or ratio on the LGT trim wheel? I'm sitting in the C172 and it seems to take forever to get the trim set to where it needs to be. Any help is appreciated. Let me know if you need more information as I'm quite new to using GFIT.

  • Have you tried using the Event/Input Action of ROTATE? This will accelerate the rotation speed. Remember to set it for CLOCKWISE and ANTI-CLOCKWISE.

  • Yes. The "Input Action" is set to ROTATE and the trim wheel in the X-Plane Default C172 is terribly too slow. I thought there might be able to be a way to adjust the speed of the movement with a custom value but it is greyed out and unable to change.
  • You will need to create two Bespoke Events for clockwise and anti-clockwise which should contain multiple Tasks that send the relevant Event that turns the trim wheel. That way multiple Events will be sent instead of a single event.

Alternatively, if the aircraft is Simconnect compliant for the trim wheel, you could disable the LGT in GIT and enable in GFConfig so you are using GoFlights drivers which may perform better.

  • Ok. I'm really new with GIT still. I'll look into bespoke events in the manual and tutorials. Does Simconnect have anything to do with X-Plane? Does GFConfig work with X-Plane?
  • No and No.
