  • Hello Steve

Still not working but a difference. Before when I moused over the GFIT window the mouse cursor would change to a spinning circle. Now the mouse cursor does not change but the window is still locked up and non responsive. Probably a difference without meaning but thought you should know.

Also I always install to C:\Goflight and not the default location?

    Sorry
    Terry
  • Also I have a green simconnect light but the other two are greyed out.
    Terry
  • I have also have GoFlight and GIT install into a non-default path ... in my case D:\GoFlight

Do you want me to /log with GIT?

    Cheers, Rob

    Hi Steve,

Sorry for delay, got swamped ... ran more testing with GoFlight 2.26.3 Beta and GIT 2.1.18.2.  Results were pretty much the same as before and as Terry described ... log text:

    16:02:17 GoFlight Connection Starting.....
    16:02:17 SimConnect Connection Starting.....
16:02:18 GoFlight Worker Thread Failed: Input string was not in a correct format.

Video of results (need to view in 4K to see text): GIT In action
Please look at the video ... specifically 0.38 sec mark showing the operating threads ... might provide some hints.

Also, I noticed that GIT uses/deploys a very old version on the P3D managed SimConnect DLL (LockheedMartin.Prepar3D.SimConnect.DLL) that is dated 8/10/2012 ... the current P3D V3 managed SimConnect.DLL is dated 9/25/2015 and there is a significant difference both in file size and bit compare.

I would think it would be important to use/deploy the correct version matching SimConnect.dll as these don't operate the same as SimConnect client installs.

    Cheers, Rob.
  • Hi Rob,

I'll need to track down the input string error.

It's using the lib file from version 1.x of P3D which works with all versions of Prepar3D.

    Thx

    Steve

  • Hi,
Following this closely as I think I am having the same issues and following the right thread. Definitely new to GIT but have a dozen goflight products that need configuring! I use FSX and when  I start up GIT I get a green light for simconnect and red for goflight. Spinning circle when I run cursor over GIT screen.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Regards, Dave
  • Hi Dave,

Did you install GIT into the same directory as the GoFlight drivers?

    Thx

    Steve

  • Thanks Steve for the quick response.
After I posted I thought I had probably not put enough detail.
Yes followed the directions to the letter (I believe).  Goflight drivers are in default location,
C:/Program Files(x86)/Goflight and the GFIT files are there as well.
Everything seemed to install just fine. Got the message when I started up FSX as expected.
Put my MCP pro and efis into compatible addon mode. When it wasn't working I started thinking there must be a conflict so removed FSUIPC addon from launching (even though I understand they can work together?) in the dll.xml and that made no difference.
Can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong.
    Thanks Dave

  • Steve
Installed the most recent goflight 2.26.1 but it shows up as 2.26.0 and the newest GFIT release.
    Dave
  • Hi Dave,

You need to remove the Goflight drivers and install version 2.25.2 of them.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • Three green!!!
    Thanks very much Steve.
Now just have to learn how it all works!
    Regards
    Dave
  • Some new drivers from GoFlight for you to try for everyone having the GIT lock up problem with Goflight's latest drivers:

  • Glad I spotted your post Steve ... will give these new GoFlight drivers a try.

    Cheers, Rob.
  • Hello Steve Maybe Rob will have more luck but I got the same results as before. Thanks Terry
  • Ok, thanks for trying Terry.
  • Unfortunately no luck ... same as before :(

    Cheers, Rob.

  • Ok, thanks for trying Rob.
  • I'll be moving to Windows 10 once P3D V3.1 releases with clean install of everything ... will test the 2.26.x drivers again then ... as I understand it Steve, you don't have any issues with GF 2.26.x under Win10?

Perhaps this issue is some element in the registry that's left behind even after a full uninstall and dir wipes?

    Cheers, Rob.
  • Yes, everything is working for me on Win 10.

The Goflight driver issue is very odd. GIT only references GFDev.dll and this has been rolled right back and still the issue remains?!

I'm sure it will be nailed at some point and its bound to be something stupid!

    Best wishes

    Steve
