  • I can't answer why you would have to do it every time. Try closing your sim first then GIT

  • Now I think I can reproduce this problem. I loaded the A2A C172, 182 and if I load the MJC I get those failures I showed this screenshot. Then I have those events twice at the detective. Then I can't delete the Bespoke events with the red X, although the events are there.

Also it seems that I have to import the MCP Pro Profile everytime after loading the Dash. After this it works. Maybe Steve could look at this behaviour.
    Very strange.

Your import is failing what you have to do is pick an event that has some code in it, then the delete all will work

  • Sounds like a security issue to me. Have you tried turning off UAC or running GIT as administrator. If that doesn't work it may be a corrupt file so try renaming My Document\GoFlight Interface Tool and then trying again.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • Now I'm running GIT as administrator. Next I'll try to deactivate UAC (I'm using Win10 Pro 64-bit). At the moment I start P3D, load up the Dash and then start GIT (as admin). The digits at the MCP Pro HDG are showing 000. If I turn CCW the digits go down 359, 358, 357... If I turn CW the digits are going up 010, 020, 030... Now I go to GIT MCPPRO register and import the xml profile for the MCPPro and then it works. If I close GIT and start it again the same problem occure. I must import the MCPPRO xml again. Why GIT doesn't save this setting?

Could it be a problem that I've installed the Goflight Driver at C:\Program Files (x86)\GoFlight and GIT into this same folder? Should those two programs be installed out of C:? With the other bespoke events for A2A planes I had never problems.

    Regards,
    Martin
  • Hi Martin,

I would rename My Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool so GIT starts with a clean settings file and see if the problem persists.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • Hi Steve,

I deinstalled GIT and the GoFlight drivers, reboot, install both in a new folder at another harddisk, deleted the GIT folder at My Documents. Now I installed the bespoke events in detective and imported the xml for MCPPRO and EFIS. It works, but if I close GIT and P3D and start again, the problem I wrote above happen again. EFIS work, but MCPPRO HDG and Course digits go down in 1 steps CCW and in 10 steps CW. If I import the XML for MCPPRO again it work.

    Regards,
    Martin
  • If you want I can hand edit the stuff in for you, it's not that hard.  I need your bespokeEvents.xml and your settings.xml files they are in your documents/goflight folder, attach them to a post here and I'll fix them for you.

For whatever reason it's not saving but this will go around the problem.

  • Hi Steve,

that's very nice if could have a look at my settings. I attached my xml files in the zip. The only planes I use with my MCPPRO and EFIS, are A2A C172, 182, Piper Cherokee, Comanche and the MJC Dash. The PMDG 737NG and 777 are built in GIT.

    Thanks a lot!

Everything is intact but I think I found the problem.

For some reason when you import the profile it is dropping the decimal on a couple of bespoke events. I compared it to mine and also had a look at what I exported and the decimals are in there.

Possibly program bug or it doesn't like the decimals.

I corrected the errors. for you , it was only in this file. Let me know it works and we can get Steve's thoughts on this:

  • HI Steve,

Yes that sounds like a bug. I'll look into it.

  • Hi Steve,

is this file the BespokeEvents.xml? How should I import this file? I copied it to my dokuments folder but it doesn't work.

    Regards,
    Martin
  • I renamed your file to "BespokeEvents.xml" and saved it to the documents folder. Start P3D, load the Dash and if I start GIT the HDG digits of the MCPPRO show 000. If I turn CCW 359, 358, 357,... from 000 CW 010, 020, 030,... If I import the "mjc8q400_GFMCPPRO-0.xml" file the digits work.

If I close GIT (not P3D) and start it again, the same procedure starts again until I load the "mjc8q400_GFMCPPRO-0.xml" file.

I can reproduce this problem everytime.

    Regards,
    Martin
  • It goes into the documents /goflight interface tool folder, you have to replace the existing one you have.

Not sure how the name got truncated probably because i didn't zip it up.

The reason its increasing by 10 is the missing decimals

  • Hi Martin,

I think there is a bug in the software. I will be looking at it later this week and will get a new release out to fix the problem.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • I reworked the profile to get rid of the decimals. I'll upload it when I get out of work. Hopefully he can use it then.
    Steve McNitt
  • Martin give this a try.

  • I deleted the bespoke events in detective and imported your new one. But if I quit GIT and load it again the same problems appear. I have to import the MCPPRO.xml again, the it works. Tomorrow I test deleting the complete GIT folder in documents. GIT forgets the settings only for MCPPRO. EFIS work without problems.
  • edited May 2016
I tested it on mine by deleting the full GIT folder that way it wasn't trying to load anything when the sim first starts. Then import bespoke , then do the MCP and EFIS.

It shouldn't matter much but do you start GIT before or after you start your simulator?
    Steve McNitt
  • You mean, deleting the GIT folder at documents? Right? Not deinstalling GIT?
Normally I start P3D, load the plane I want to fly and start GIT. Leaving GIT active and switching between planes and I switch from the A2A C182 to the Dash I got those failures, I showed in the screenshot above.

At the moment I have time and test your new profile after deleting the GIT folder at documents.
  • No sorry, it doesn't work. The same problem. Also I tried to start GIT first and then P3D and the Dash. I must load the "mjc8q400_GFMCPPRO-0.xml" everytime after loading the Dash. It doesn't matter wether I start GIT before P3D or after.

Another thing I noticed. After loaded the Dash and GIT the digits for Altitude count up in 200 steps. After I turned the rotary fast up to near 27000 and down it works and counts in 100 steps. That's not a problem. I only want to tell you.
  • One question. In detective I only must import "mjc8q400.xml"? The "mjc8q400 Vars.xml" is not necessary?
  • Another info: After I imported the MCPPRO.xml it works and if I press the Button "Restart" in GIT it doesn't work and the heading problem is there.
  • edited May 2016
Once you import, the mjcq400.xml the Vars file should  be incorporated automatically.  I wouldn't try to install the profiles from the zip file directly as it may or may not work depending on a number of things.

If you hit "restart" recent changes don't seem to get saved sometimes. It's not a good idea to restart before exiting the program once( forcing it to save the current settings).

I know because I lost a few hours of work before doing that :P you should import the profile and then just plain close the GIT program and it should save everything. Then restart the program.

I believe the reason it is that way is because should the program become unresponsive due to making  some weird event that would lockup or crash the program , you would not want it to automatically save that because you could potentially be stuck in an endless loop of loading/crashing or bad behaviour.

The altitude and heading work ok if the profile is fully loaded, none of the behaviour you describe happens on the fully working profile.

    Steve McNitt
  • Yes, Steve is correct. The restart button is like a hard reset/power off and back on, so nothing is saved. When an aircraft is changed or GIT is closed down, the settings are saved.

Wait for my update due this week, it should solve the issues.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • Hey Steve,

I'm not seeing the issue of decimal numbers not being imported correctly. Both my installed version and development version bring the numbers in fine. What are your windows version, language settings and flight sim?

    Thx

    Steve

  • Hi,

I'm using Windows 10 Pro (German), P3Dv3, GIT 2.3.0.0 and Goflight driver 2.26 Build 4. I attached again my files of GIT from the documents folder.

    regards,
    Martin
  • Hi Martin,

I have just tried your files and they worked OK apart from heading. I changed the ROTARY_HEADING input to use the inbuilt Simconnect Events HEADING_BUG_INC and HEADING_BUG_DEC and it worked very well.

If when you make those changes they are not saved, I would like you to uninstall the GoFlight Drivers and GIT and reinstall them both into C:\GoFlight to avoid any security issues that may be interfering.

    Thx

    Steve

  • Hi Steve,

do you mean, I should install the Goflight drive into C:\Goflight and GIT also in the same directory? The setup from GIT wants to install to C:\GoFlight\Goflight...?

Now I install GIT into the same directory and will test.
  • No, change the directory to be C:\GoFlight. If its adding Goflight at the end, just enter c:\

Install GIT and the Drivers into C:\GoFlight

    Thx

    Steve
