GIT for P3D

Hi
I get the GIT 1 week ago and installed it step by step, but unfortunately I haven't make it work.
Everything looks good all 3 lights are green but for some reason the tabs are not available, I read everywhere but I cant solve the problem. Probably I'm doing something wrong or missing something, but I don't know what it is.
I will appreciate some help..

Thx in advance Willieg

  • Hi,

The tabs only become enabled when the virtual cockpit shows of an aircraft. The only other thing it may be is that the GoFlight Module is not installed/running - See the installation instructions for details on where this is installed and setup.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • Hi Steve

1st of all thx for the quick answer,, Following your response, I did follow step by step the instructions (and reviewed all again right now) and did a test running the p3d with JUST the GF module (not the GIT) and works perfect with the default Baron aircraft, I installed both, GF Module and the Interface in the same folder in C: (not in program files).

i added some picks and the Log. text

    thx for your help

  • Have you checked that the module is being loaded in dll.xml?

  • yes, (attached pic)

but a question the GF Conf is NOT in the dll but is in exe
  • The file C:\<accoutname>\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D\dll.xml must have the following entry in it:

    <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>GoFlight Module Interface</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\GoFlight\GoFlight Interface Module.dll</Path>
    </Launch.Addon>

The <Path> may be different depending upon where you installed GIT.

  • Hi Steve

i checked once again and everything is by the book, but unfortunately still not working, the tabs still gray. even if the interface recognize the modules I have and all the lights are green.

  • If you are getting the aircraft into a state where the cockpit is visible and it still isn't enabling the tabs, try running GIT as administrator.
  • Steve

everything is running in adm,, and im sorry to complicate your Saturday and probably this could be a "pain" for you, but is frustrating and i really want to fix and use your tool. do you think could be a registry problem or the GF Module (im using thr 2.26.1)
  • No. Everything is OK in the log.

Can you confirm you are loading up a flight and getting P3D into sim mode (virtual cockpit showing and flight loaded) as the tabs will stay disabled until you do that - you must have the sim in a flyable state.

  • thx Steve for your patience,,

yes everything is as directed; virtual cockpit, default airport and with the baron on the runway,, the strange thing is that the module (GF) alone works,, i can move the hdg in th mcp, set the radios, etc,, but the tabs still grey
  • is no way you can connect to my computer remotely?

  • Not today, I'm not at home and only have my phone. I'm not sure what I could do anyway as everything looks OK and you have checked that the GoFlight Module is set to load. This problem is always either not in sim mode or the module isn't loading.
  • ok,
maybe another day in the meantime I will still playing around to see if i can solve the problem. I will let you know.
If not, then will need to decide what to do.

thank you for the support hopefully i can finally use it.

    have a great day Steve.
  • OK. Let me know.

Make sure its the tabs that are greyed out - i.e. you cannot click on them. If you can click on them, then its OK and you should select a Device from the drop down for the fields to be enabled.

Make sure the path to the GoFlight Module is also correct and the right file has been updated - I suspect it isn't loading and this is causing the issue.

  • will do,

I will re-install everything and try.. hopefully work,

    will keep you post

    have a great day Steve...

  • Final thought. If you have a MESM you need the latest GoFlight drivers available in the Yellow highlighted messages at the top of the forum.
  • sorry but what is MESM
  • if you mean the 2.26.5 driver,,, I did
  • Hi Steve,,

Just to keep you infrom,, I did a fresh install, but something a noticed was that in the instructions said the PMDG license should appear, but in my case NOT. do you thing this could be a problem??

    thx
  • Hi,

No its just kept the settings and remembered you have already agreed to it.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • So, if everything was installed as should and even thou doesnt work, what else can I do?
  • Check the FAQ entry "FSX/P3D/FSX SE Crashes on start up indicating an error with the Goflight Interface Module" and make sure those registry entries are correct.

Make sure you are running the P3D version of GIT and not the FSX or SE version.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • Can you also attach your dll.xml file for me to check.

    Thx

    Steve

  • Ok, I will check that and will come back to you,,, Im sure the GIT I installed was the one for P3D, but will double check that also. Im in my office right now, but will check once back home and will get back to you. Thank you very much Steve to following up with me, this is exactly what a responsible seller do with his customers, you are awesome
  • Hi Steve, this is what I got,,
I delete everything, but still no active tabs,,:(
  • Well Steve, this has been a nightmare, I tried everything possible and nothing work,, Ibreally want to use this tool but is so frustrating, maybe is time to give up. Do you "honour" a refund?
  • Let's arrange a remote desktop session to see if I can spot anything.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • I think is a good idea,, I'm in MEXICO and work from Monday to friday, so can we organize for the weekend (Saturday or sunday) in the most suitable time for you. please let me know and we can do it .

thx a lot Steve, hope we can solve this issue, have a great day
