LeoBodnar BBI-32 & GIT 2.6.0.0 P3D version - issues/crash

Hi,

I just received a BBI-32, as I had noticed earlier version ChangeLog mentioned you had added support for this card in GIT.

I plugged it in, and my system recognized the card.
I couldnt find any tab for the BBI-32, so I assumed that it might come under the 'Joystick' tab, which was greyed out as I have not enabled this option.
I went to the settings tab to enable Joysticks, and Save Settings.
I then quit GIT and relaunched it, when a warning advised me to save all my settings, and that it was

"Unable to Load Bespoke Events:Index was outside the bounds of the array"

Haven taken a backup, I clicked OK and GIT showed all tabs as greyed out.
Status tab showed it had recognized all of my GF hardware, but all tabs were greyed out, including the Joystick tab.

I clicked on the restart button in GIT, and got the same warning, but this time the Joystick tab was active (but all other GF tabs still greyed out).

I was able to see the BBI-32 card in the list of joystick deices, enabled it, saved a function to button 1, and then went to the Settings tab.

Just before I hit the save Settings button, I noticed the Enable Joystick checkbox was not ticked

I can only return GIT back to its normal working condition if I directly edit the Settings.xml file and set <JOYSTICKSENABLED Enabled/> to False

David

  • Hi David,

Some joysticks crash GIT which is why the option is disabled by default. Can you remove the BBI-32 and then enable the joysticks option and see if GIT still crashes. If so we need to determine which Joystick device is causing the problem. The best way to do this is connecting the joystick devices one at a time. Once you have identified the offending device, copy and paste the GIT Log and attach it to this thread.

    Thx

    Steve

  • Hi,

    thanks for the reply.

I have removed all of the joystick devices that I could and tested after removal of each one.
There is one remaining, that I am not able to remove, as its a virtual driver, and even in the hardware manager config page, I am not able to disable this virtual driver.
I do actually depend on this virtual driver for this device.

    Anyway, the driver/virtual device is:
    3Dconnexion KMJ Emulator

and allows the 3DConnexion device to appear as a joystick device.

    The GIT log contained this:

Great, I'll build a test version for you that excludes that device. Since your email address is not listed in the Shop, I need you to PM me your Shop email address or login name and invoice number.

    Thanks

    Steve

  • HI Steve,

    That worked - many thanks.
