PIPE Connect Failed
Hi There
I have been using the software quite successfully on XP 11
All of a sudden I know get the error GIP:Pipe Connect Failed
It just keeps saying this on the log and I cannot access any functions on the main screen so I have to close it down, sometimes having to use Task Manager to close it
This happens now with any aircraft
At the moment its completley useless
I have read othr postings but cannot see a solution for my error
Please let me know what other information you require and I wilL of course post it on here
Many Thanks in advance
Paul

It sounds like the GoFlight Interface Plugin is not running or disabled or deleted. Re-install GIT and it should be OK. Also check in X-Plane that the plugin is enabled.
Best wishes
Steve
I have reinstalled the latest GIT version and checked its enabled in the plugins but still get the same error
Thanks
Paul
Other than that, make sure GIT and X-Plane are running as Administrator.
Best wishes
Steve
PS: What changed on your PC before this started happening?
Will do that when I get in
But when I installed yesterday I checked all was located in the right directories and I always start as Administrator
Nothing major changes to my PC only updating of Xplane
Will try complete new install tonight and report back
Thank you
Paul

When I fire it up again its back to the Pipe Problem
Very Frustrating considering I had it all working

Sorry still the same
After I uninstall the previous version then reinstall a new version, on first running I get 3 Green lights but then I cant do anything else with it
After closing that and restarting I just get Usual Pipe Error and its unusable
Sorry
Paul
I am also seeing a similar issue. GIT 2.0.12.0
To get three green status lights GIT must be stared first. Only then XP11 can be started. Very soon after XP11 starts the three green GIT status lights all light up and log looks normal.
If XP11 is started first (or GIT is Restarted while the sim is running) only the GoFlight status light becomes green. The DRE mimic mode light and Aircraft light stay red ( and the log starts showing GIP: Pipe Connect Failed).
This is definitely a change in behaviour from what I remember in previous versions. I always start GIT after XP11 and I don't recall seeing this issue in the past.

Martin
I'm running 2.0.12.0 as well and am having no issues with starting XP11 first and then GIT. I've found the restart button problematic so if I need to restart I shut GIT down and start it back up again.
Everybody's setup is different which makes tracking down issues like this frustrating.
David
For me, the above issue is observed regardless of the method GIT is shutdown and restarted. Killing the process in Task Manager, or simply closing with the X window icon makes no difference.
I have three aircraft installed that use a very recent version on Gizmo64. These are MU2(v1.8)/Les Saab340(v1.5) and the IXEG.
I start XP11 and load up any non Gizmo aircraft and then before starting GIT I disable the Gizmo64 plugin (and just-in-case, cycle the GIT plugin disable, then enable).
With Gizmo64 disabled I am then able to start GIT and restart GIT while the sim is running multiple times without any problems.
Then after the above successful tests, I re-enable Gizmo64 plugin (even with a non Gizmo aircraft loaded). Then on the very next GIT restart, GIT hangs with two red status lights as already described above.
This is a great find and it does solve the issues But it does mean that you cannot use it with the IXEG
Can this be fixed I really hope so
It was great to use my MCP and EFIS this weekend
Cheers
Paul
GIT works for me with the IXEG provided I start GIT first (before XP11 is launched). It seems there is some conflict between GIT and the latest version of Gizmo64 and starting GIT first is the only workaround I know of.
At this stage I don't know if the above conflict causes some other deeper issues during the flight, but I can certainly use my GoFlight hardware (LGTII,RP48,GF166s) by always starting GIT first and then never restarting it while XP11 is running.

Thanks for this information. GIT had issues with Gizmo when it first came out but they were resolved. It now looks like the latest Gizmo version has created further problems. I'm running an old version of Gizmo, so I will test with the later version and see if I can track down what is happening.
Best wishes
Steve
Work around by starting Git first works.
