  • I have come here for the same reason. I was going to post the same question. I won't buy this plane until a config file is released. I just can't fly with out the MCP Pro!
  • Working on a profile for it B)

  • I was gonna start working on one after I finish up the MV 310R, but since Steve M. is on it no need now.
  • Very nice. Thank's in advance

Only doing the MCP and left side EFIS, it's kind of a pain as I'm finding it's coded a LOT like the Milviz 732 and that was a hard one to do also. I'll put it in this thread for some testing if you guys want. I'm at about 80% done on MCP today but haven't done any real testing to see how well it works. Their mouseclicks and LVARS don't always seem to trigger the same as when you click on it in the VC (IE the sounds and animations don't fire etc.)

  • I'll help test it out if you post it. I've been working with the QW 787 a bit, but I'd like it a lot more once I can use my MCP with it. Thanks for all the work you do.
  • Thanks for this Steve, happy to test whenever you think it's ready.
  • Some differences between MCP's on this aircraft. Would you rather see the heading select as a knob push or the hdg sel button? I prefer the HDG sel button on the goflight to represent the HOLD as it seems to make more sense as there are not enough buttons and it would work closer to the real thing. Also thinking to use the goflight alt intv button as VS/FPA instead as the intervene is a knob push on this aircraft as well.

Should be easy to change if you dont like it I guess.

Found a duplicate section of mouse clicks for the MCP , not sure if it was intended to make this a shared cockpit aircraft or not or which ones to use but it takes a while to sort through them one by one. Both sets of MCP mouseclicks seem to work.

last 10% seems to take 90% of the time...trying to overcome some problems with the IAS display and altitude knob and don't want to give out something til I can get those to work OK but I did get the blanking to work on IAS and V/S. Try to have something flyable for you guys by next week.

  • I would prefer the Heading Select to be the "HDG SEL" button. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I forgot how much I like using my MCP until I couldn't use it anymore lol.
  • I prefer the knob push.
  • Wow this QW787 update v1.1.1 has some nice improvements and performance seems better. Love the pilot electric chair motion (back then to the side) ... WX is working correctly now ... just wish it had TrueGlass and RealLight to accompany FSFX Package 787 immersion. A lot of bang for the buck.

    Cheers, Rob.
  • This aircraft is probably one of the more frustrating ones I've worked on in a while, even with the patch some stuff will just not work properly no matter what I do. Mainly it is the button lights that are holding me up so I'll probably just disable the ones that I can't get right and release a profile that is functional tomorrow for you guys to play with

  • Looking forward to trying it out. I am looking forward to flying this plane. I have not purchased it yet. Will have to be next weekends fun!
  • Grr... just lost a bunch of work because I didn't export after programming and GIT crashed and deleted all my BE's I made for the EFIS...I'll post something when I have time to remake it..
    Steve McNitt
  • Oh no! Hopefully that didn't set you back too far. I check this thread almost daily lol.
  • Hey, Steve. Any update?
  • WIP

Here preliminary ( alpha) some lights not working properly and a few little glitches , IAS blanking on this aircraft is a real hassle the way they coded it so I abandoned that for now but the blanking is working on VS displays. Ignore the course indicators for now as I was using it for debuging some things.

EFIS is missing as I need to redo it and haven't had time due to work schedule and real life getting in the way. Some rotary glitches happen if the "rotate" function is used because the way QW made their rotary acceleration.

  • Thanks for your job.
    Will try it

  • Thanks, Steve. I just downloaded and imported the .zip file and loaded up P3Dv4. The F/D, A/T, speed, heading and altitude seem to all be working at first load up. I'll fly around with it in a little bit, but it's a promising start.
  • Hey, Steve. I've run into a few issues with this. The VNAV light isn't working (you mentioned some lights aren't working yet so I assume you're already aware of this). Also, some times the heading will increase/decrease by 1 and other times it'll change by 10. The MCP has also locked up and stopped working completely while changing heading and altitude and I had to restart the MCP and the program. The most recent time, I was changing the heading slowly and everything locked up and the altitude changed to "h70". Overall, this works fairly well though and has made flying this plane more enjoyable. Thank you.
  • Hey, Steve. Have you made any more progress on this?
  • Hi Slayer, hows your work/life balance going - had any more time available for this QW B787 challenge ? hahahahaha ..
  • Hey, Slayer. Is there an update on this?
  • Love to know if there is any update also.
  • Hi all,

I have been working on an update from the latest zip file uploaded to this forum a year ago. I have been able to update and correctly set up some buttons for the MCP Pro like the LNAV and VNAV.

But I'm kind of lost in two specific areas:

    1. Some BespokeEvents from Slayer's original files are pointing to the qw787.gau or other events with specific Codes and Data. I haven't been able to understand them (some of them work and some don't). Is there any documentation in order to understand which codes and data should be included or how I can get that info from the sim?

    2. On QW's Sim Buiders Kit, I can see a lot of events that are not listed on the Events at the Detective window. (Specially the ones starting with KEY_*). Are these only available for LUA programming?

If I'm able to get some improvements, I will share is in this thread.

    Thanks
  • Been busy with RL have barely touched my GF gear in the past year and a half.

To answer your question: There was no sim builders document available when I started working on this. I used the detective and started seeing what events were used when I pushed certain buttons etc and compiled them into a spreadsheet. Needless to say it's a very time consuming process. That document should make things very easy to program now. I can't speak to the KEY_* but you can use LUA within GIT if needed. I no longer use the radios or EFIS but still have the MCP..

  • @Slayer,

    Thanks for your response.
By any chance you have that excel file?
Do you remember why you created the START Bespoke Event?

    Thanks!
  • Any .gau Tasks are Mouse Click Events.

KEY_ events are Simconnect events. In GIT, the KEY_ part is removed to make it more readable.

    Best wishes
    Steve

Start handles a bunch of things like VS blanking and on off states since they are tied to other things than just an on or off states of a switch.

    Hi all,

Here's the beta version of the configuration.

If you could try it and let me know if its fine on your system. I'm still working on a couple of issues, but its fair enough to say it works fine to fly correctly.

Here's also the release notes info:
