Thanks again Steve I now have GF Config and GIT installed in the same folder, and have three greens on the GIT screen. A good bit more to do I guess to get everything functioning but its great to receive your guidance on getting the fundamentals right in the first instance. All the best and much appreciated. John

Many thanks for your suggestion! Ccleaner did the job; located and installed the driver successfully. Only thing extra I had to do was change the COM setting to correspond with the allocation indicated in the Silicon Labs title and at last the CDU has come alive. Really grateful for your time,consideration and help!

I load up the 64-bit Engravity CDU PMDG interface and get the three greens on the status tab (COM 1 port selected). The CDU boots up satisfactorily, passes test, before going to standby as expected.
