Hi Steve, If I start GIT before P3D when the Scenario Menu appears GIT has three greens which suggests all is well. I then select a saved Scenario to load and as soon as I do that the LEDs on the 166 go off. They previously showed 100.00 on both sides for the two 166s. After selecting a scenario to load it places me back…

Yep. First thing I check. The GF166s work fine after I press a button to bring back the display. And they are illuminated when P3D starts. It's just when GIT64 starts they both go blank. What's that NANE UNRECOGNIZED entry referring to?
-
I had the same problem yesterday. It was resolved very quickly by Steve by logging into your Pollypot account and from the Support menu select Need Assistance. Complete the form and you'll get a reply back within an hour. https://shop.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/need-assistance.html

Problem resolved with a reset. Thanks Steve.
-
Older than 2003? That’s when I bought my GF166s which have worked fine ever since.
-
Hi David, I've got it to work after some struggles. It took a switch of aircraft and then back to the PC12 for the code to run. Thereafter the LED illuminates when it should. I do have other bespoke events and those don't appear to have been affected. All's well that ends well. Thank you very much and I hope others find it…
-
Hi David, That's very mind of you, thanks. No, I've never written any code. Not my area of expertise I'm afraid. I'll test it in the next day or so and reply. I'm just setting up a flight in Concorde. :)
-
Hi David, Thank you for your analysis. On your second point I was able to read the relevant offset from FSUIPC to show the status of exit1 and exit 2 (pax and cargo doors) and they matched your values above. Frustratingly, GIT cannot access those offsets so setting the light appears impossible. How frustrating for such a…

Okay Steve. Will be tomorrow now. Backup first and then if I do bugger anything up it’s easy to restore.
-
Hi Steve, I'm unsure how I could do that and I'd rather not start changing things I don't understand. Just to confirm. Which variable are you referring to? EXIT_OPEN1?
-
Hi Steve. Not sure if I've understood your post. I edited the T8 switch function to set the Light Action to On and 100 instead of 1. Still no joy. The pax door opens (TOGGLE_AIRCRAFT_EXIT, SELECT_1) but the GoFlight LED remains off.
-
Hi Steve, interesting. I’ll try that in the next few days and report back.
-
Thanks Steve. Looking forward to seeing your new program. Have a happy and safe Easter.
-
Roger that Steve, thanks.
-
Hi Steve. Two logs attached suitably named. Just a change of livery for the same aircraft is enough to kill P3D.
-
Thanks Steve. I’ll setup the scenario tomorrow and supply the log.
-
Steve, is the log saved somewhere or just displayed in the Status window?
-
Phill, Glad it worked for you. I don't do anything special with my two GF-166s for the PMDG NGX. You only need two really, one for Comms and one for Nav. Just use the GoFlight utility to configure them like that. I don't use GIT at all for the 166s.
-
Try the fix I tried in this topic. https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/vanillaforums/discussion/1010/gf-166-and-gf-46-lighting-up#latest

Steve, i renamed the gauge dll to dl# so it wasn't loaded. Multiple changes of aircraft livery and panel configurations and no problems with P3D. GIT 64-bit running of course. The radar gauge is on sale for under $10 if you're interested. http://www.rexsimulations.com/radar.html
-
Hi again Steve, I installed the Rex Wx gauge in a Carenado PC12 and performed the same test. Without GIT 64-bit running I was able to swap liveries without issue and even switched to an Avatar and then back to the PC12. But once GIT was running swapping from one livery to another in the Vehicle menu crashed P3D v4.5.
-
I only have the radar gauge installed in the aircraft I’m testing. The other aircraft I fly that uses GIT is the PMDG737 which already has a radar installed. I’ll try it in a Carenado PC12. I accept it’s not usual to change liveries within the sim but it’s odd doing it should crash P3D. Just a reminder to remove that GIT…
-
Steve, please remove that txt attachment. If I try it just returns an error.

Hi Rich. Just to clarify a point. It wasn’t Microsoft support who helped solve it. I saw an advert in a local paper by a Microsoft Certified Engineer. He visited me and solved the problem in less than two hours but only charged me for one because it was so different to the usual problems he gets called out for.…
-
Thanks for clearing that up Steve. I found Detective wasn't too bad once I became familiar with it. That's often the case with powerful tools. What a shame QW haven't provided an SDK. I suppose that the difference between a 50 quid aircraft and an 80 quid one.
-
Thanks Steve. It appears we're at the mercy of the developer. But assuming it's the same as the PMDG737 would it be difficult if all lvars are available? Time consuming but straight-forward rather than technically complex?
-
Steve, could you answer my question please? It shouldn't be difficult for each user to create a profile for a new aircraft should it?
-
As someone who is interested in the QW787 I’m curious about how difficult it is to replicate the commands for the MCP and EICAS to work with that aircraft. Is it just straight-forward but time consuming or does it require skill only a few people like Steve possess?
-
Thanks Steve. It was a little confusing because on the Settings tab there is an option to Save Settings. Does that just save the settings displayed on that screen?
-
The events I created still exist but weren’t bound to the switches. So I had to redo them again. Are these changes saved automatically or is a manual action required?
