How do I check the firmware version? I have issues with the displays freezing regularly on the 166's and the MCP. Regardless of USB version - the units will freeze just the same when I use my laptop with USB2.0 ports or my PC which has USB3/USB3.1 only.

Good to know. I saw the drivers were still mirrored on Steve's web site, but is there also a mirror for the firmware updates?

I'm guessing a sim update broke some stuff in the API. If the GIT software version didn't change it means that the tool is sending the right commands, but the sim isn't acting on them unless you're in cockpit view. I noticed the same behavior while flying the CJ4.

I have just purchased a rack of GF gear on the used market and I am more or less experiencing the same issue. However, I did notice that when the GF modules are connected to FSX using the original GoFlight DLL, the connection seems to remain solid, even when connected through a USB3 port, and there is less noticeable lag…
