Seeking advice -- Getting GIT functioning?

Hello Steve,

I have a complete corporate pilot suite of Goflight modules and have installed a purchased version of the GIT (version, March 1, 2021). That said, I have not been able to figure out how set it up, and am even having no success with getting it to update even though every time I run it, I get a pop-up saying a newer version is available. Finally, as it sits at the moment, GIT freezes up every time I attempt running it and it can only be shutdown via the task manager. Clearly I'm messing up on a several fronts.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to use it with both P3d (v5,1) and MSFS 2020, focusing on GA aircraft already included in the sim(s). I don't know if both can be achieved?

Thank you for whatever help you can provide,

Brian

  • Sorry, I should have said that I am wanting to use my Goflight hardware with both GA and light business jets already included in the sim(s).
  • Hi Brian,

First thing is, have you followed the installation steps here, particularly in regards to GoFlight drivers and installing GIT into the same directory: https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/16-installation/14-installation.html

    Best wishes

  • Hello Steve,

Thank you. I thought I had, but I will redo in case I messed up. I'll get back to you either way,

  • Hello Steve,

I have uninstalled both the Goflight Config and GIT apps, and reinstalled Goflight Config. I have also installed a number of go flight modules, including the MCP Advanced and all appear in the Goglight Config app.

However, following the instruction link you provided, clicking on the MCP Advanced picture (also any other modules) doesn't pull up anything (Steps 1c, d and e). Is this because I only have P3d (v5,1) and MSFS 2020 installed -- neither appear as recognized sims in Goflight Config? Any advice on next steps?

    Many thanks,

    Brian

  • GFConfig does not support MS2020 so you can ignore it. There are separate articles for installing for P3D and FS2020.

  • Thank you, once more, Steve. I will read through them both,

    Best regards,

    Brian
