GF 48 set up P3DV4 with PMDG

Hi, Could someone tell me the GFIT set up, or guide me to the tutorial, for the G46 module for P3DV4 with PMDG? I would like to set it up the same way I had it in GFconfig. Nav1, Nav2, DME1, DME2.

Thanks

Rob

  • Hi Steve,

Thanks, But I am still having some problems. I set up the Nav 1 and Nav 2 as Stanby, and it works well. I can adjust the frequency on both. How do I toggle them over to Active, or better still how do I just set it up as active. I entered Nav 1 radio set, and it displays correctly on the PMDG radio console in Active 1, but I cannot figure out how to rotate the dials to change the frequency in this mode. Your help in letting me know how to toggle standby to active on the GF46, or how to set up the Nav 1 and Nav 2 in the Active field would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Rob

  • Hi Rob,

If I remember correctly, the NGX does not support changing the active NAV radios, it only allows the standby radios to be changed.

To switch from standby to active, you will need to assign the Event NAV1_RADIO_SWAP to another GoFlight devices button or a joystick button.

  • Wow! That worked. Thanks Steve. One last question on the topic. I got the DME's (1 and 2) to work as well. It only registers in miles with no decimals. On the PFD the DME will show 1.8 miles, but on the Goflight GF46 module it shows only 1 mile. How can I set it up to show the decimal points as well, to match the PFD. Thanks again. Rob

    Hi Rob,

If you are using NAV_DME1/2 variables then these come down from the sim as whole numbers. I can look at changing the requested variable type to see if they can come down as a fractional values for the next release.

  • Hi Rob,

Finally found the issue with the DME data, so the next release will have the fix (sadly it missed yesterday's new release).

  • Hi Steve,

What is the correct procedure to get it to work. Do I just download the entire software again, and it will over write the one on my computer, or do I delete the version on my computer and then download the new version, or, is there a simple patch that I have to download? Please let me know so that I do it in a way that you intended.

    Thanks

    Rob

  • Hi Rob,

Download in the usual way from your account and run the installer. It can be installed over the top of the existing GIT installation.
