I have installed 2.0.16.1 and the latest VC-redist files and I have a Winsock error stating that bespoke events cannot be loaded because the cloud provider is not running. This all worked in 2.0.15.2 so what is the problem here?

OK. I carefully read the error message again and thought about the "cloud provider" bit. I hate OneDrive and have tried to get rid of it permanently. So I reloaded OneDrive and it immediately said I had deleted 22MB of files and asked if I wanted to delete them from OneDrive or restore them. So I restored them. And now GIT…

Solved! I opened DREDataRefs.txt in Notepad and discovered that the two plugins were writing to it - an additional FMC for the EADT x737 models and JARDesign's Ground Handling Deluxe plugin. I removed those two plugins from X-Plane and the MCP Pro works as intended once more! Your advice set me on this path so I do owe you…

Thanks for that advice Steve, which I followed to the letter. It seems obvious, as you say, that some other process is opening the DREDataRefs.txt file but I simply cannot find which process that is. I thought about what programs/processes might interact with X-Plane. I used to have a Saitek X52 HOTAS, which I no longer…
