The Goflight MCP and EFIS work just fine with the qgt750llnxpi download in V2.4.  However if I try and install via Detective into 3.1 get the following error message.

import has failed: Data at the root level is invalid,Line1, position 1.

  • Hi Roger,

You need to edit the file and add CR/LF to each line as discussed here: http://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/vanillaforums/discussion/comment/1731#Comment_1731

I have asked the author of the Q400 profile to use a later version of GIT to re-export the profile which should fix the problem. See http://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/vanillaforums/discussion/279/majestic-q400-efis-and-mcppro-profile#latest

    Thx

    Steve

  • Opened the file in word pad. Just a load of stuff that makes no sense to me..
On clicking on dective the file shown as needed  is mjc8q400  . click on import get the following.

    The event "MJC_ADC_Baro_LCW" has errored:
System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Specified argument was out of range of valid values.
    atA.SY.Q(String,Boolean)
atA.SY.Q(String, String, Boolean' Boolean). Task will not
be loaded. Please check the event in Detective!

GIT locks up and has to be closed down.

Hope this means something to somebody!

Thanks for your help-- looking forward for a solution that I can understand.

    Regards  Roger Hollands
  • Hi Roger,

You will have to wait to see if the author of the profile will do as I have asked.

    Thx

    Steve

  • I have used that download before my previous post.  Still do not understand why everthing is fine in P3D V2.4

    Roger
  • Roger,

He has just updated it using the updated software. Please try it.

    Thx

    Steve

  • Have delered GIT and re downloaded the mjj file in downloads. Still get the same error message as above re Boolean etc.

Going to swap ssds now as I am due  on line in a while .

    Roger
  • Roger you need to download the file from the thread I posted. Its a zip file added by Slayer at the very end of the thread. The one in the downloads section of the forum is still the old one.

    Thx

    Steve

  • downloaded  file from Slayer. Same error message!
    Roger
  • Hi Roger,

I have got Slayer to try it himself with P3D v3 and it is fine. Please see his comments at the end of this thread: http://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/vanillaforums/discussion/comment/1813#Comment_1813

    Thx

    Steve

  • downloaded  file from Slayer. Same error message!
    Roger

Have tried again, same error code. Probable somthing weird in my computer.  Propose when I have time to re format spare ssd and try again.  Many thanks for all your efforts.

    Back to P3D V2.4!

    Roger
  • Are you using Windows 10 upgraded from Windows 7?

  • No Win 7.  Still puzzled why 2.4 is OK and not 3.1
    Roger
  • We all are! Are you using the latest Q400 version?
  • I have tried the pro and Pilot version. Have re installed Pilot version a couple of times.  At present using the Pilot version.

I have also re- installed 3.1 and ran a repair on Win 7 64 bit.

    Roger
  • Hi Roger,

The author of the Q400 profile has stated this "I'm using the pro version 1.018. Note that there was an additional download from majestic to update some files and that was 1.018b2 - Those are needed to make it work with P3D3.1. Downloaded that through the user area on their website."

    Hope that helps.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • OK thanks. Will reinstall SSD some time next week.
    Thanks  Roger
  • Have tried both Pilot and Pro with similar results.  Must be something corrupt in me machine.

Will re format and start again next week sometime.

    Roger
  • Did you get the beta files from Majestics website and copy them over?

You need to go to this page in the "user area", put in your key and email address to get access to the files.

  • Windows 7 64 bit and Dash 8 Pro  installed. (incuding latest beta update)

Whilst I do not understand the problem I observe some differences between P3D 2.4 and 3.1 and GIT.

In 2.4 the field bottom right of Detective shows: MJC_ADC_Baro_L_CW

This works with 2.4 Note only GIT is active and not the GoFlight config program.

     IN P3D 3.1

Using wordpad the above text is: M_J_C__A_D_C__L__C_W"_

The error message when Detective crashes is

    The event "MJC_ADC_Baro_LCW" has errored:

    All slightly different.

No idea is this is of any help to the experts.

Note. In P3d 3.1 if I activate the GoFlight config program, all the lights on the MCP are on.

    Roger

  • Have just installed latest version of GIT. Dective does not crash.
All the 7 segment displays on the MCP are at 0.
ON the MCV tab The MCP and EFIS are recognised, but the import buttons are grey.

In my Documents\Goflight the only entries are for the A320.

I've seen it have all zeros before. It's because of not being set to compatible addon in GFConfig. Make double sure you have your P3D entries set correctly in options /program locations. Especially if you have 2.5 and 3.1 installed as they are not the same directory.

    Steve McNitt
  • Many Thanks.  . I have settled for the moment on 2.5 Will report back this pm.

    Regards  Roger
  • With clean install P3D V2.5  works just fine.

Again, many thanks for you patience and expert help.
