use of your software

Hello I wonder if the tool interface can handle this: I have the FSX-Steam with PMDG, just got a bbjsimracing 30 buttons box, it has buttons and rotary encoders, When I try to add the key in the B777 PMDG there is only keyboard option and the PMDG does not show button pressed, the box is working I map all buttons, I can not set the rotary buttons to increase/decrease IAS, HDG, V/S or Altitude. Any help is more than welcome.

  • How are they presenting the rotary encoders in DirectX because DirectX only support buttons, axes and pov's as far as I can see?

Do the rotary encoders work as continuous 360 degrees of rotation or do they click into certain positions like a selector? If its a selector, I would guess they would present as a series of buttons in GIT.

  • Thanks for your reply, :) Yes it is 360 degrees of rotation does the clicks position by position shows number 3 and 4 button in the box Windows setup. Do you think if I buy this software I will be able to change the above parameters?
  • If the bbjsimracing presents as a DirectX joystick (which I suspect it will) then the buttons and switches should work. You will still need to install the GoFlight driver software as GIT needs a DLL from it to work and then you will need to enable Joysticks in the Settings tab of GIT.

My only concern is the rotaries as DirectX does not support such a thing. I suspect they may present as a button press when you rotate them and if they do then GIT should work with them. You may want to double check with the manufacturer that this is how they present in DirectX.

On occasion, GIT doesn't recognise certain devices but I can work with you if necessary to get it functional as it would be nice to get GIT working with these devices.

  • Is this your software? PETE DOWSON - FSUIPC4? please let me know I prefer to buy yours now that you Kindly offer help to make my box work. If possible send me the link for the FSX Steam Edition + PMDG on windows 10.
  • Just bought but did not receive any download link neither key.
  • sorry just found, have installed running but can not open any other tab, in the Log there is an error: threat failed unable to load DLL GFDev.dll.
The app freezes after 2 minutes.... to close I have open the Task Manager :(

  • this was taken after start the FSX Steam and freezes again :(

  • Hi,

You need to follow the installation steps even though you have no GoFlight equipment: https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/16-installation/14-installation.html

You will then need to enable Joysticks in the settings tab.

  • Hi Steve, I don't have any of the MCPs mention on your user guide... What should I install? Where can I find the drivers your app needs?
  • Drivers are here: https://goflightinc.com/pages/latest-software/ Click the Download GFConfig button.

There is no need to do anything in GFConfig because you don't have any GoFlight gear. Just install the drivers and GIT into the same directory and it should fire up OK. Remember to enable Joysticks in the Settings tab.

  • Hi Steve, first of all sorry for my lack of knowledge with FSX and your app, I follow your instructions, and be able to open the joystick TAB, on Device Field dropdown Button Box Interface I will attach a picture, so when I move the rotary button 3-left-decrease or 4-right-increase I can see the input Event chaining to Heading_Bug_INC to Heading_Bug_DEC. but no action in the HDG of the FSX/PMDG.

  • Hi Steve, I select EVT_MCP_HEADING_SELECTOR to a Button4 so I can increase the HDG bug, but How can I decrease? if I select same EVT to button 3 still increases the HDG bug. There is no EVT INC or DEC?
  • Hi,

You need to use an Input Action. If you think about using the Virtual Cockpit, a left mouse click decreases the heading and a right mouse click increases it. So use Input Action MOUSELEFT on one button and MOUSERIGHT on the other using EVT_MCP_HEADING_SELECTOR on both buttons.

  • Hi Steve, We are in the correct path, I set all rotary buttons and it is working selecting mouserR/L. But there is a problem you may have before. for example, IAS button2/3 is increasing and decreasing speed but at the same time the button 2 that is setting Flaps down. I notice I have selected the same button No 2 to Flaps Down in my Joystick, this happens even if the joystick is unplugged. (I need the joystick to fly the airplanes).

Have you assigned the flaps down event to the OFF states of any buttons? Have you assigned anything in FSX?

I would quit GIT, then test the button and if the flaps operate then something else is configured. If it doesn't then you must have assigned the event on one of the states of the button i.e. ON, OFF or HOLD

  • There is no event of Landing gear I check in the export file.
I have assigned many events in FSX with my joystick. Is there any limitation in having a box, a joystick and a yoke all plugged in the PC together? Anyway thanks for your support, I will try again tomorrow. :)
  • No there isn't. Zip up the Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool file and attach it to this thread so I can see what is going on.

    Thx
    Steve
  • For some reason is not saving the keys/inputs events.... when I restart the PC
  • Here is the file you requested :)
    GFI.zip 11.7K
  • Hi Steve, here is the file with almost all buttons selected. I add the export file as well. I could not find the command for AutoPilot ON OF switch, there are two switches in the 777 MCP, there are AP SWT L and R but not the AP ON.
    Thanks for your help.
