  • Dave39...I'm sorry. You should have stuck with FSX if you're using GIT. X-Plane and GoFlight don't necessarily play nice together despite PollyPot's decent software package. And, GoFlight has basically decided to nose dive into non existence with zero support. They rooked me out of about $800 right before Xmas. I'm very…
  • Just patiently waiting for the new owners to surprise me with their awesomeness. :)
  • thanks Andrew. Honestly at this point I'm genuinely afraid to even try it. Every time I think I've got it all my other modules decide to take a dump. I always have to backup all the XML files so that WHEN it goes sideways I can get back to where I started.
  • I'm really glad to hear this. I purchased about $1,000 worth of GoFlight modules right before Xmas only to find that they went dark as soon as I got everything. I was under the impression that their customer support was just lousy. I am glad to know that I may actually get some worthwhile help from the new owners. Honestly…
  • When was this announcement? I'd love to finally get some real support. I guess it's a good thing I didn't throw my GF-46 across the room yet. :)
  • I'm inclined to think they might be going out of business as well. What other reason did they have to sell all their stock at a bargain just before Xmas? I bought an MCP Pro, 2 166's, 1 T8 and the 46 all within a couple weeks and now they're down to basically nothing available. Also the one time they actually DID respond…
  • I'd found just keeping the GF-46 unplugged and the GF-166s work great. The GF-46 is garbage.
  • I've given up on the GF-46. I have no problem whatsoever saying that is the crappiest piece of garbage ever made by GoFlight. I don't know how they can even sell it. I've tried to initiate a return but they've gone out of their way to ignore all my support requests and/or to contact them. Their support is just as crappy as…
  • Here's my latest that seems to place nicely again.
  • This works for me.
  • :( Nothing. Anytime I have issues the first thing I do is go back and re-check to make sure none of the Power Management options have changed back to checked. They're not. I don't even have it plugged in anymore. I get tired of looking at it being locked up. I'm open to trying something of my own if need be. Anyone know…
  • Well, it stopped working not long after it started. Biggest piece of junk component they sell. It’s useless. Everything else they sell works flawlessly, but this is like an electronic paper weight.
  • Awesome, thanks. I'll check it out.
  • Something I should add is that selecting "custom" versus "standard" variables was initially confusing for me. In the GIT Detective the top right lists pertain to variables (DataRef) and the middle right lists are events. To search for a specific item you can select the tab you want to search on. I.e. "Custom" is going to…
  • On the 46O you're only selecting the variable associated with the actual value, I.e. transponder code, and adding a function name.
  • Thanks Doug. See my recent post where I finally resolved my GF46 issues. I had to disable all my USB devices from windows power management. It’s a simple task by removing the check box on the power options for each USB device. It’s a manual process but ultimately a simple fix. I’ll probably create a regex batch file to…
  • I played last night and turned off power management to every single USB device on my Windows 10 pc and they would all stay on at the same time, and that was on the same HUB. GF46 started responding (sort of) so I should have it all done today. ;) Finally some positive results.
  • Ah! Turning off Windows 10 USB Hub Power Management could very well be it. I'm really hoping that could be the solution. Regarding USB 1/2/3, my USB hubs are all 3.0. GoFlight's strange insistence on using outdated USB versions makes little sense as they are backwards compatible. My USB hubs are AK-68ANHUB-B10A (10 port…
  • Let's assume it's locking up. What would be the solution? Are we talking about changing the command delay sliders?
  • I have all the lights working for me with my Rotate MD-80 MCP Pro. This weekend I'll work on completing the ZIBO mod. This isn't really that hard, it's just a paradigm shift from the kind of software development that I'm used to. I do understand why Steve did it the way he did. The communication between the hardware and…
  • Steve, it might be a good idea to compile these issues from these different threads into a pinned thread at the top of the forum. I have had many issues with this module myself and hunting for old threads has proven timely and confusing for me.
  • Not yet, but I think that might lead me in the right direction.
  • I don't think it's locking up. I'm at work right now and can't click "identify", but I'm fairly sure that it's not locking up since it's fully functional in the simulator to GF-46 direction. It's only behaving as if the GF-46 to the simulator messages are not being sent. With my current configuration, with my bespoke…
  • I've recently had plenty of problems with mine. In fact, so far I haven't even gotten it to fully function. I can get it to display my transponder data and it updates when I change the transponder code directly in the simulator, just not the other away around. I've found that as long as it's not on the same powered USB…
  • Hammer, this specific module is the toughest one I’ve tried to program. Like I said before I’ll get something uploaded here once I’ve finished it.
  • Also, when I have the GF166 plugged in at the same time as the GR46, one of them won't work. I'm guessing I need another powered USB hub despite the 1st one being powered.
  • I unplugged the GF166 and it started having power. It still doesn’t work but at least I can get it to work halfway. I’ve got the function name displaying and the transponder value displaying. However the events I’ve assigned to the pushed and non-pushed rotaries aren’t working. The bespoke events I’ve created and assigned…
  • Yeah, all I've seen is references to changing the write command times, etc. Won't that affect all the GoFlight components, not just the GF-46? And, what would be the ideal settings for those 2 scrollbars?
  • What would be REALLY helpful is just a small example of how the mappings for events/variables are chosen to make this thing work. Maybe the actual function to be selected on the 46O tab? Also, I should mention that "IDENTIFY" doesn't do anything once I've started setting up selections on the 46 O/R tabs.
  • I get mine tomorrow and will need to program it for ZIBO and Rotate MD-80. I’ll share when it’s done.
